I absolutely love the Tech Council’s luncheons! I don’t often have the opportunity to tour various facilities and locations around the Shenandoah Valley when attending business-networking events, but from time to time the SVTC holds tours and field trips in place of sit-down luncheons. This is a fun way to meet other professionals in the area and experience a new location all at once. This past October, SVTC held a luncheon at the Staunton Innovation Hub, a co-working space for local businesses. During the visit, the Staunton Hub was in the midst of expanding the facility. We were able to see their current workspaces, the space they aim to reconstruct, and their vision for the future expansion. It was exciting exploring the under-construction area while chatting with equally enthusiastic attendees. This was definitely not something I would have been able to visit outside of the SVTC, and I’m thankful I had the opportunity to do so.

Another great luncheon and presenter hosted by the Shenandoah Valley Technology Council (SVTC) at Wood Fire Grill on February 21, 2019. We heard from Mike Mitri, a Computer Information Systems professor at JMU talk about Natural Language Processing. Cool stuff!

Tech Nite is one of my favorite events to attend. It's a breath of fresh air seeing a diverse crowd from all over the Valley and not just the usual suspects. Plus honoring technology really means honoring innovative ideas and creative thinking. If that's your jam, it's a great evening of networking, connection, and inspiration.
