Shelby Bottoms Nature Center Park is an absolute gem in Nashville! My wife, our daughter, and I recently had the most delightful experience there. The park is a haven for nature enthusiasts, and it offers something for everyone. The natural beauty of this place is simply stunning. As we strolled along the trail, we were captivated by the picturesque scenes that surrounded us. The park’s lush greenery, serene river, and diverse wildlife make it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. I couldn’t help but capture a picture of my family enjoying the scenery, and it was like a postcard come to life. What makes this park truly exceptional is the adaptability of the walk. Whether you’re looking for a short, leisurely stroll or a longer, more challenging hike, Shelby Bottoms has you covered. The well-maintained trails are accessible to strollers, making it family-friendly, just like my experience with my daughter in tow. If you’re a seasoned hiker, there are multiple splits and paths to explore, ensuring you’ll never run out of new routes to conquer. This park is more than just a place to walk; it’s a gateway to tranquility and exploration. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a family with young children, or a seasoned hiker, Shelby Bottoms Nature Center Park has something to offer you. I highly recommend a visit to experience its beauty and versatility.

Great place to bring your fur babies!! Lots if space for all your pets, a nice safe playground for your kids to play and lots of trails besides the air strip to walk on. People are very friendly and mindful!!

Great way to get outside and be in nature for a bit in Nashville! The main trail they have is about a mile, so it’s a perfect way to get a short walk in even for your dog as well. Highly recommend for locals or tourists alike!

Very nice place to bring your entire family. Picnic areas, play grounds, walking-running-biking paths, and very beautiful nature trails. If you are lucky, you may see some wildlife strolling through.

This nature center was a pleasure to visit. The building is down at the end of a walkway off the main road, just past the train tracks overhead. An impressive building with a great view from the deck, it also sports a functioning green roof. The staff were friendly and engaging, and knowledgeable about Tennessee wildlife. There are activities for both younger and older kids (my 6 and 8 year olds enjoyed the animal tracks sandbox) and lots for adult nature enthusiasts to see as well. There are restrooms and a drinking fountain. Tips for a successful visit with children: 1. Bring a lunch and/or lots of snacks. There is nowhere nearby to buy food. 2. Wear sunscreen and hats, closed toe shoes and socks. 3. The center has an ongoing calendar of events, so see if there is anything special happening before you go. 4. Check the weather report so you don’t get caught in the rain! We ended up going on a rainy day that wasn’t great for using the trails; however, I’m looking forward to trying the Riverwalk Trail the next time we go.

Nice quiet place in the midst of the hustle bustle of the city. Beautiful views. Walk. Run. Rent a bike. Catch a ballgame (summer) the pond is gorgeous. The river is breathtaking. The nature center is beautiful but I’ve not been inside. The added hands on park for the kids is something I wish were there when mine were smaller. It’s worth the stop. Bring a picnic. It’s Nashville at its finest. Plenty of parking.

The Shelby Bottoms Nature Center, is a beautiful Greenway trail, with a gorgeous view of the Cumberland River from the pedestrian bridge. Interesting art sculpture and natural wonders to see. Benches are available to rest and relax. Enjoy the view and the walk.
