The trail was pretty in the woods. The "field" was created for the power lines. We hiked the Lookout trail, which boast an overlook of the river...well, maybe 30 years ago. It's over grown. It was a nice mile hike. The trail was wide and well kept. It was a great place for birding. The park is pet friendly, we brought our leashed dog. There are picnic benches, areas to reserve for large gatherings, bathrooms and a small playground. There is handicapped parking, but the trails are not handicapped friendly.
“Enjoy don’t destroy” but all the bushes are drove right through. Sad use to love seeing the bunnies and all the wildlife come out. They are now destroying the wildlife, not preserving it. Sad world we live in now n days. really disappointed in this, the wildlife had an home there. And the rangers are really suspicious always following you if you drive around the park.
Lovely little trails. I only wish they were better managed. The climax of the trail is supposed to be the lookout spots. These spots are overgrown with bushes and trees on both the blue jacket and little turtle trails. Still good trails though. My three year old can do them (with a little sit on daddy's shoulder time) and has fun.
Lots of awesome trails with amazing views. The "boat ramp" however is much to be desired. . . Even after a good rain, it was just a shallow mud pit. I would recommend taking the trail and dragging your boat or plan a different take out.
A lovely hiking spot with great history! There are like four different routes, each one takes between 1-2 hours to finish and are easy to do. The best part is the nature and wildlife you can see if you pay attention! It's a very calming place with good energy all around if you're looking to escape from the city for a little bit.
Trails are very nice. Met some wonderful people hiking. Benches to enjoy lookouts and rest.
Lovely overlook of Ohio and Great Miami Rivers. Roads to and inside park in good condition. Family friendly hiking trails combined with playgrounds, two historic buildings, Native American mounds and information signage provide visitors a unique park experience. The visitor center has clean and modern restroom facilities and drinking fountain. Other restrooms are available at playgrounds and picnic areas.
The lookout is so great!! The trails are wide, the interpretation is very interesting and it’s a great place to hike!
