I highly recommend Shaw Computer Services. I accidentally did a quick format on my desktop D: drive, which contained more than 500 GB of documents and photos. (My backup on an external hard drives was a couple of years out of date, and my online backup was for some reason only backing up the C drive.) I found Mr. Shaw's business online and sent a message describing my problem. I got a quick phone call in response. Within a couple of days, I met with Mr. Shaw, who removed the D drive and expressed confidence that he could recover the files. Within a couple of days, Mr. Shaw had recovered all the files and copied them onto an external hard drive for me. I met with him, and he showed me what he had recovered and carefully and patiently explained how I should restore them to my desktop. I think he understood that someone like me who could reformat his D drive was not extremely computer literate. Mr. Shaw was very professional and was clear about his fees and expenses.
