This is a great hike! Just south of Central and Thunderbird, the parking is at the end of the road and the trailhead goes straight up. Don't worry about it being too hard. Take it slow and easy and and just know—even a 5-year-old can do it. Mine did. It doesn't take long to get amazing vista views. You'll be glad that you made it to the top so quickly and you got such an incredible view. Shouldn't take more than a half hour walking really slow and taking lots of water breaks. You'll definitely be planning your next visit after you finish with your first!
Moonlight hike was enjoyable. We found a Christmas tree at the top. Trail was pretty chunky with lots of loose gravel. Steep in sections and a good overall workout. Need to watch your step.
A nice quarter mile round-trip hike the top of the mountain and back. Most people on the trail were friendly willing to say hi or little chitchat. Free of homeless encampments.
Great trail to hike! Nice 360 views of the city and surrounding areas
Beautiful hike. Early in the day before the heat kicks in was nice. Starts out easy then ramps up as you start up the butte. Rocky as you go uphill. Take good water. Great views.
I enjoyed this trail, it was a tease with all its "summits". Just as you think you've made it, surprise! More to go 😂 If you get winded going up 3 flights of stairs, this will be a challenge for you. I say this because I've gotten out of shape and overweight making me winded after going of 3 flights of stairs. My last hike was Echo Canyon last year and I thought I still had the same stamina and strength...nope! If you can hike Echo Canyon on Camelback, this trail will be easier. Bring good amounts of water and good shoes. I wore running shoes and made it fine, but going back I'll be wearing hiking boots due to loose gravel coming down. If you feel like you'll need to use the restroom, park at the visitor center lot as there are restrooms. You'll do have to do some extra walking to the trail head from the visitor center. If not, there is a small parking lot right at the trail head. I made it to the antenna towers, next time I hope to make it to the next mountain top over/end of the trail. Lots of people towards 4pm and onward incase you're COVID-19 concerned.
Very good trail to go for a quick hike it's not too steep perfect for beginners and you get views for all around the valley
Good hike, steep all the way, 30’ up taking it easy. Good views all around
