Shasta Dam Motel - Featured Reviews (138)
Stayed here in mid July 2024. I arrived late and tired due to being on a motorcycle and the heat. Easy to find. Front desk was super nice. Room was cool. Clean. Quiet. Safe. Every room has a parking space right in front so you can keep an eye on your motorcycle, jeep, truck, car, stuff if you feel the need to. Not necessary as it is safe but in case you like that comfort. Great location. Walk to many food options or convenience store. 10 minute drive from Shasta Dam. Go fishing or take the tour. Take your boat to the boat ramp and on the lake. Have your motorcycle worked on at the shop which is 2 minutes away. You cannot find better value in the area. Room size was better than expected everything worked. WiFi was sufficiently fast for me to work on my laptop and attended meetings. Front desk worked with me on extended checkout time. Will stay here whenever staying in area.
Excellent service and very quiet. Max is a great owner. I would recommend this motel to anyone traveling through redding
BED BUGS! I woke up the next morning covered in bites and only realized it was more than a few bites once I was in the car. I sent an email and it was ignored. When I called they told me they would not offer any compensation. I’ve been waking up every morning itchy, scratching, and bleeding from these bites. Ruined my vacation and stay in Shasta Dam.
This motel used to be a favorite stopping place of ours, on trips going to northern California and beyond. We stayed there in mid-June, and discovered that it was no longer the sweet funky little place we used to like. Room and shared areas not well cleaned (dusty chairs, smears in bathroom), no coffee supplies (had to ask for them, & they didn't really match the in-room coffee pot), no hair dryers available. Not sure if this is another casualty of the pandemic, or a possible change of ownership, but it will definitely be the last time we stay here, sadly.
This place is absolutely disgusting. Sink leaked and they used a towel to try to soak the water up, but it left bugs and am awful stench. I would even bring myself to shower as there were small black bugs on the floor of it. They even used duct tape to patch the carpet which was completely stained and smelly. Redding is 7 miles away, do yourself a favor and take the extra 7 minutes. Also, my kids weren't with me, thank God, but do not take children here, it's a cest pool for disease. I used all my hand sanitizer to soak the things I had to tough. Very icky.
My trailer broke down when passing through and my child and I needed a place to stay. We found this place online. When we arrived the entire parking lot was completely empty. Not a single person in site. When I rang the bell for service, a man came out. Took one look at me and my child and said they had no availability and just walked away. I have never been so insulted and have never experienced such rude and dismissive service.
Owner / manager went above and beyond to help me reserve a room for 3 people and two beds when another local lodge could not accommodate our late check-in. They even honored the price that I originally booked on Priceline. Highly recommend. I will update this review after the duration of our stay :) Update: the rooms and beds are small and everything is dated and old. But you get what you pay for. And we slept great!
I stayed here a long time ago with a crew of Wildland firefighters. Twas coo... Owner/manager was seldomly seen but, avail when needed. Was a pretty good trip until the fire company popped UA's on us.
