Wow! Did not expect Indian food this good in Tahoe! Each dish was full of flavor with just the amount of spice. We tried the chicken momos, butter chicken, chicken korma and lamb tiki masala and our favorite was the chicken korma. We will eat here again before we head home! It was that good!
Great food but huge wait times!!!
Shangrila Himalayan Kitchen in Lake Tahoe is known for its Nepalese and Indian cuisine.
They have good momo's and typical Indian curries.
They have good lager beers which are local to India, like Taj Mahal beer.
It's a small restaurant but the food is very flavorful.
Very good spot for Indian cuisine. Super quick and easy service. You don’t even have a server, you just order from your tables QR code for easy access.
I was a sucker for the samosas and the saag paneer.
The food is very good, comes in large portions, and is ready pretty fast. We have been twice so far and our favorites are the veggie momos, vegetable pakoras (best I’ve had), and mix vegetable masala.
We visited this place after a day of water activities and were craving some hot Indian food.
We ordered paneer tikka masala, sweet lassi, mango lassi, garlic naan, veg momos, tandoori roti and shangrila special dal and rice.
Everything except the momos was great in taste. The naans especially were very soft and smelled fresh. You can avoid the momos the crust was hard and the filling wasn’t that tasty either.
The only problem I had with this place was the pricing. It is extremely expensive and on top of that they charge a 18% service fee on every order which turned out to be very expensive experience for us. Also, the rice is not served with dal, you have to order it separately.
If you’re visiting on weekends, there’s a farmers market right outside the restaurant and you will not find parking!!
Its hard to find Himalayan cuisine around this area. Glad that this restaurant will be a trendsetter! Not too many Himalayan dishes but whatever they offer gets the job done. Fairly expensive, but then its Lake Tahoe and one needs to consider the hard to find resources to run such a rare restaurant!
Momos were pretty good. Service was so so. This place gets pretty busy, so the food takes longer than expected. Be patience and order their chai tea and just sit n sip n sip n sit until the food comes out.
Nice place to eat Indo-Chinese. Good food quality and quantity.
Must try Veg and Chicken Momos 🥟 👍 but it takes around 20-25min for momos. We got this appetizer almost when we where finishing main course dish.
I guess it’s family operated restaurant, so less staffed continuously running to fulfill the customers requests. So be humble if they are late, as they are also handling doordash results.
I didn’t like chicken pakora so I would not recommend it.
Definitely restaurant needs more staff to fulfill customer requests on time.
Overall all good. Must visit this place if you are in Tahoe.
The food was very similar to any Indian place. The chicken Momo's were different and that dish stood out from the rest it was like a falafel chicken meatball dumpling, they were very good. Our order consisted of chicken Momo's, chana masala, 3 orders of garlic naan, chicken biryani, raita and a side order of basmati rice. Our waitress expected us to order more but all that we ordered filled us up quite well. All orders are All La Carte, It is a bit more pricey than the prices I'm used to our total was about 85 dollars. The restaurant itself was decorated nicely but if I was in the area again I would not return unless I wanted chicken Momo's. Everything else is very simple food my family and I know how to make charged at a ridiculous price.

The place is really nice, the water is crystal clear but very cold. It's worth it to pay the $5.00 fee to see this beautiful place. In the middle of it there's an old house, scary but beautiful.
Went with my daughter and husband and came from the heavenly line since the wait at the resort was 2 hours! They helped us right away and we were able to get all the equipment we needed in a reasonable time frame. The staff are super friendly and acc
Beautiful hike to Eagle Lake that took about 30 min after the bridge. This time of year there was snow and ice on the trail that made it slippery but was worth the quick trip up and back.
Took this trail to go to Cascade Falls. It's flat for the first 5 mins or so and then becomes rocky and risky at the corners.
There is some construction work going on in the area so they have put up temporary boards marking the trail. Good job!
