Does anyone know why this place is such a dump? You’d think being at the intersection of Nob Hill and Russian Hill would mean you’d at least have a decent experience, but Shanghai Kelly’s is so trashy that’s impossible. Not a place to go if you want to be treated like a human being but if you’re tech trash you might get lucky!!
Great crowd. Friendly and fun Bartenders. Popular sports bar for fans of Boston Teams, Pittsburgh Teams and the occasional Eagles fans. Well worth a stop if local or from out of town.
We stopped in because of the name and were glad we did! We were the only two there and had a great time chatting with the bartender. She was fantastic! Great atmosphere!

Oh yeah, been coming here since 1998. Just introduced my new wife from Cincinnati to it and she loved it. She can wear jeans and heels or wear a black sleeveless dress at the top of the Mark. will definitely be back.
I am not a drinker anymore, so I usually don't hang-around them now. But I went with a friend who was supposed to be meeting someone. Whilst in the waiting zone I played a couple of patrons a round or two of pool. I ended up having an absolute splendid time. The "someone". ended up a"No-show" I'm not sure if it's like that everyday. But that day definitely gets "Two Thumbs Up!" So I would say it's OKAY to get,"SHANGHAI'D" at Kelly's

I stopped here on the way back to my hotel just to use the restroom. Was stopped by guy in a beard who asked for ID and said it wasn’t a public restroom, which, ok fine? However, he then suggests I go to a fire department (really it was not that serious)… I’m not sure if the assumption was that I was homeless but it definitely felt racial profile-y.
