Tired hiker and his service 🐕🦺 needed a room to stay in but the owners denied a service animal. Didn't think that was a thing. It's weird because the hotel's cover photo on reviews has a picture of two dogs. Place looked about beat up anyways. Maybe.....you will have a better experience
I just thought folks should know that Laura is no longer running the Shamrock Village Inn. I learned this as I was trying to book a room with a very surly, unhappy individual. Customer Service does not appear to be what it was, which is very unfortunate, and it seems the Inn is filled to capacity long term by "residents". I'm going to miss this place, as it was a lovely oasis for hikers.
It was great to get off the trail and stay one night at Shamrock. The shower was hot, and would of got hotter if I wanted it. Dave the manager let us check in early which really helped us out. Yes the place could use a massive cosmetic upgrade and it could be cleaner, but it was still heaven to us.
Todd and owner Laura are most helpful, cheerful and kind. The motel is an average roadside building probably built in the 50's, but Laura has done a nice job making the well-kept yellow building look pleasant with flowers and decorating the rooms with above average linens for motels of this type. There is a room set aside for guests to relax, use the internet, and it has a hiker's box. The motel is only about a mile from the Appalachian Trail. The room has a microwave and fridge and decent towels. Todd was most memorable for his unfailing upbeat, good cheer. It was a hot day, but he said it was a wonderful day, as his "late, great father would say." We arrived after the office closed, and they made a key available to us, trusting us to settle up in the morning. The only disappointment was that the walls are very thin. However, I would stay again. This was a welcome locally-owned, reasonably-priced motel in a very expensive area.
Great lace for hikers to recuperate from the long grind of the trail. Hot showers, soft beds, clean rooms. It's not the Ritz unless you've been slogging away on the trail for awhile. The owner is super concerned about your comfort, and she even gave me some Epsom salts for my trail blistered feet. A welcome respite from the elements and just what we needed.
The Shamrock Village Inn is a nice break for hikers. I stayed in room # 2 and found it clean and comfortable. The owner is very hiker friendly and is great to provide a helping hand. They accept packages for hikers and when I called to say I would be arriving late, she was nice enough to place the package in my room.|The motel is dated, but, again, clean, friendly, and close to many services.|
Sprained my ankle and was happy to have a place to stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Nothing is brand new, but for the price I paid ($85) it is a great deal. My room (number 4) had a tv, coffee maker, fridge, and microwave with a queen bed. There is also a common room to hang out in that has a washer and dryer. Overall very happy, staff is incredibly helpful.
The room smelled like it had been previously smoked in, and the sheetss/pillow cases had stains on them. I'm not sure if the sheets and pillow cases were dirty, or if the stains wouldn't wash out. Either way, I wondered how clean it was sleeping in the bed. The TV did work, as well as the AC, mini refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. But the questionable clean bed and room odor overrode those.
This place was absolutely gorgeous!!! The fall leaves were so beautiful and were falling all around us while we were there too. It was so peaceful and relaxing. I could've stayed all day.
Absolutely the cutest little shoppe!!! The staff was amazing. Was truly surpised on the options on foods and drink (espresso..teas etc) we ordered the classic burger (which was amazing according to the spouse) curly fries cooked to perfection along w
