Shamrock Motel - Motel in Texarkana - 717 N State Line Ave, USA

Cute and quiet when I stayed here. The air conditioner is high and in the closet, took a while to cool the room. The fridge was off, so I can not review that. There was only one 120v outlet in the room. There are two 240v outlets! No outlet was grounded, so electric car charging is not available. There is a public fast charger just two blocks away at city hall, by the monument

The people who own this place are sweet, and were extremely polite. That being said, someone should probably condemn this motel. I's not entirely their fault, and this review is probably more of an indictment of the burned out, Walking Dead-esque downtown area of Texarkana than anything else. Bottom line is: ||||1.) The place is falling apart. ||2.) Our neighbors got into a major domestic physical altercation that was horrifying and police-dispatch worthy. ||3.) No towels.||4.) Shower doesn't drain||5.) Some windows are open and can't be closed. ||6.) Neighborhood feels like something from Mad Max.||7.) People loitering and yelling outside our room for most of the night.||||So, while I'm trying to keep my wife from divorcing me, I'll tell you that you shouldn't stay here unless you're legitimately looking for a place to just be generally illicit.

I've never had a problem with the management. It's quiet, a little dumpy, but overall a very decent place to stay in Texarkana. Not to mention, it's located in a much less bustling area of town. I recommend The Shamrock motel to anyone that doesn't want to be in the main drag of metropolitan Texarkana.

If you are a single woman or man and travel as I do. Intensely from Canada to Florida by train this Motel is the only T Town motel near the, Amtrak, Federal Courthouse and Post Office. The beautiful Churches and Statues of the East Texas Oil Boom of the Twenties are within walking distance. Weekly rates are available. The Texarkana Police force patrolling both Texas and Arkansas is one of the finest Safe Secure and Polite what sometimes wont find even in a 5 star luxury hotel.

This is a drug infested motel with owners of foreign nationality and they can't speak English in the state of Texas! They are also very rude!
