Shalom House Bed And Breakfast - Featured Reviews (34)
I found this place online because we were traveling with our pups and we wanted to stay somewhere halfway. I am so happy we did! The lake house was so quiet and relaxing! We sat outside and enjoyed the donkey and goats by the lake. My only recommendation is to bring food to cook because they are pretty far away from restaurants and have an awesome grill by the lake and a full kitchen. Margaret was super nice and met us at the lake house despite that we arrived around 8 pm and in the rain. This place is just a cool getaway. We will definitely stay again!
My wife and I stayed here one night while enroute to FL. She wasn't feeling well so Margaret and Hank House went out of their way to accommodate us! The House family is very friendly plus it was a real treat to meet their grandkids. The accommodations in the main house are very comfortable and quiet - had a great night's sleep. The Houses treated us like family which we really appreciate. They go the 'extra mile' to make you feel very welcome. The breakfast was delicious as well as wholesome. Great B and B - we look forward to future stays and most highly recommend!
We are repeat guests stopping here for the night on our drive to FL. This was our first time in the cabin/Pond House. My wife and I found the cabin to be very roomy and clean with full-size appliances that met all our needs. The beds are extremely comfortable. The cabin is located next to the pond and very near the main house. The setting is very picturesque and quiet throughout the night. The owners are outstanding in their helpfulness and most friendly. We are already looking forward to our trip next year when we plan to stay here once more!
Margaret and her family are amazing. This truly is the best place to stay. The cabin we stayed in was huge and would sleep probably 6 in beds and another 2-4 on couches. Lots of picnic tables for gatherings or retreats. A gorgeous stocked pond that will suck the stress right out of you. You can sit and swing by the pond, have a campfire, fish, pet the goats, play pool, enjoy a good book etc. It was refreshing and renewing. That's just the cabin. Margaret's breakfast was 5 star. My husband cannot stop talking about it. Everything was homemade and tasted amazing. We loved everything about our visit. We can't wait to go back.
Wow! My boyfriend and I were traveling to Florida from Tennessee and needed a place to stay along our long route right before the holidays. We prefer B&B type places, because staying in a hotel is so unoriginal and sometimes really noisy around the holidays. We found the Shalom house online and booked it as soon as we could. We recommend booking ASAP as it was also booked the morning we did. We now know why. We arrived as the sun was setting and met Margaret, Hank, and their grandkids playing outside. Immediately, she made us feel at home. The place was quiet, clean, artsy, and had a nice swing to watch the sunset over the pond with their animals keeping us cozy and well loved. My favorite part about their home is the gorgeous blue sky painted across the ceiling. I swear I forgot it wasn't real. Such a nice cozy room with all you ever need. There is also so much beauty here! They both gave us wonderful recommendations for dinner and when we came back they asked if we wanted to have a bonfire and smores, how generously sweet, we were so spoiled! They have so many hilariously wonderful stories, we were in TEARS laughing! We felt like family in a matter of hours. In the morning, Margaret prepared us a GORGEOUSLY delicious egg lasanga, which is probably the most delicious egg I've ever had, and Hank gifted us some homemade grape jam and an inspiring book for the road. These wonderful people are God sent, we feel so lucky to have met them and will definitely be visiting again! Thank you for making our stay the best part about our trip! We miss you and can't wait to be back again, Thank you so much!
As first time bed and breakfast goers, Margaret, her husband Hank and the multitude of wonderful animals that surrounded their property made this trip a truly one of a kind experience! Both the cabin by the lake and the room that's apart of their main house were comfortable and cozy. Thank you for your superb hospitality and delicious home cooking! Words really cannot fully describe this amazing experience. Until next time! -Alaura and Luis
Fantastic experience. Stayed for 4 nights. The room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. There was a private bathroom connected to the bedroom that was also very nice and clean. The host was very kind and accommodating. Provided an amazing gourmet breakfast each morning at the time we requested. Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed for a week toward the middle of July and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the big cabin by the pond and while the hosts were out of the country (so we couldn't try the breakfast), the caretaker was a very nice man. My mom was with us and she enjoyed watching the baby goats scamper through the fields.
The food here is excellent! We first discovered this place last year coming back from Florida so we stopped here again this year for more! The drinks are good but next time I will ask for it to be a little less sweet. Love the decor. Really nice, cov

I visited this small town and tried their cream horns for the first time. I was in heaven. I ate cream horns every day because they're that delicious. 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend them.
***UPDATE - Brought the hubby. I had the chicken salad sandwich. They were out of croissants (insert sad face), but it was good on white bread. I got my favorites! The fried banana pepper rings!!! OMG!!!!! I can make a meal out of those things!!! YU
