Shakou Restaurants - Asian restaurant in Arlington Heights - 70 N Vail Ave, USA

My wife and I went to shakou for Easter dinner. Had a wonderful time! Great environment, terrific food and our waitress was outstanding. This is a fantastic place to have a great drink and delicious food, not to mention the and customer services was a cut above the rest. As soon as we enter the restaurant, the hostesses were fantastic... welcoming, smiling and inviting. What made the evening even better was our waitress, Nattaya. She was terrific, very professional, provided great recommendations for food and provided outstanding customer service. We will definitely be going back, as well as bringing our friends. Outstanding drinks. Extremely good pours.

Cute place, good food, yummy cocktails, and very nice overall. I definitely recommend the Blackberry Mojito over the Japanese Mule as the mule is a bit tart but still good regardless. The Pink Panther roll was delicious. I absolutely loved it. Great place for a quick bite or even well enough for a cute date! I highly recommend checking it out

Too loud inside for a conversation so we sat outside on a beautiful late October night. Service was a bit slower, but server was generally attentive. I ordered Thai chicken lettuce wraps but utensils for assembling a wrap were inadequate and more cherry tomatoes(?) than too dry chicken made it more like a salad. My friends greatly enjoyed their orders of bowls of something. I later ordered an eel cucumber roll that was well presented and tasty.

Me and my husband ate here for the first time last week and absolutely loved this place. The food first off is AMAZING (I highly recommend their spring roll) the servers are very attentive and I loved the overall atmosphere of the place. Perfect date night resturant, I hope to be back again soon even though we live an hour away!

It was delicious and nice to sit outside. But everything was prepared and served for a very long time. The waiter forgot the order or the details of the order several times. But the place is pleasant in its atmosphere, especially in the evening when the lanterns on the trees are lit.

Food was pretty good, but everything from atmosphere to service was terrible... Starting with hostesses obnoxiously chewing gum and dressed so casual that I wasn't sure I'm at the right place. Is it a upscale restaurant or a express panda kinda thing ?!?! On our way out , they were to busy taking and playing on the phones to even notice us leaving. Server as much as he was a nice person, was absolutely not attentive. Our drinking game started and ended with the 1st one because he never asked if we wanted anything else... We got a lot of food and spent around 2 hours at the table and it was quite strange how we were not taken care of and I mean he took our orders, served it and that's it. Now atmosphere...maybe a personal preference but I DO NOT enjoy loud club "music" in upscale Japanese restaurant. Seriously wanted to enjoy this place but good food and nice decor is not enough . Overall it was terrible experience. Do not recommend it

The food here was good, actually very good. If that was all that I was considering, I would go back at least once a month. However, the atmosphere and service have much to be desired. The music was so loud that you couldn't hold a conversation. If you look around the restaurant, no one as talking as the music makes it impossible. People were either eating or looking at their phones. I have been to the Shakou in Barrington and had the same complaint. I was hoping that Arlington Heights would be different. Sorry Shakou, I won't be coming back. You should read your reviews and actually do something about the complaints.
