What an awesome experience. A great tasting meal with great service in a comforting atmosphere. Made for such a great date with the wife. The sauteed brussel sprouts were amazing, as were the fried fish and beef tips.

If you come here, I would suggest the Grilled Salmon. Their sides are very tasty. I love the sautéed Brussel Sprouts and the sweet potato casserole. The bartender is phenomenal and makes the best Cosmopolitan around.

I thought this restaurant was okay, nothing special, just okay. We are here in Middlesboro for a couple of days and didn't want to go to a fast food restaurant. Looked this place up on Google and it looked like it would be good but it turned out to be pretty average. The place could really use an interior makeover.

The food was great! Honestly, I had the best ribeye I've ever eaten, and the baked potato was great. The reason for 4 stars is the "high rise" table and bar style chairs we sat in were very rocky and unstable. Not the end of the world, but very annoying considering sometimes it seemed like we were going to spill our drinks from rocking the table so much. Some updating would put this place over the top.

I come here for business on a regular basis and all the people I work with highly recommend. My friends Brian Redmond and Glen Hobbs said this was the place to eat and so they’re 💯 right. One of the best steaks in my 59 years. Food is matched by service and friendly people that make you feel welcomed. Wished y’all would open up a franchise in Georgetown. 🙌👏💪❤️ Also a big shout out to Ava she’s a star ⭐️

Highly recommend Shades Cafe and Steakhouse. We came in with a large group. They were prepared to take care of us. Service was excellent. Food was hot and prepared as we requested. I had the steak and shrimp with a salad and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious. We loved the bread that was served. We would definitely return again.

The wait for this Veggie Piatto was 40 minutes. The to-go ordering process was very difficult because the 3 menus (online, in person, and via the front desk clerk) I came across had different options. I’ve never heard of a piatto and was very happy with that option. I wish the menu noted that the house salad includes bacon (for us veggie lovers). The clerks were also very welcoming and made great conversation while ordering.

Excellent experience all around. Highly recommend. Everyone was pleased with their drinks. There are plenty of beer and wine choices. Didn't try any cocktails, but definitely will next time. Appetizers were great. We had fried mushrooms, beer cheese, and spinach dip. Hard for me to pick which one I liked best but I'm a mushroom lover so I'm going to have to go with them. Breading was perfect, not too light or heavy, and they were nice and crisp but still with a tasty, juicy mushroom. I had the sirloin and shrimp. Steak cooked to a perfect medium rare and was a good tender cut. Shrimp were a good size. I could have easily taken two bites each, but with the light spices and the fact that they were grilled to perfection I had to eat them whole. I couldn't have grilled the steak or shrimp any better myself. I had the garlic mashed potatoes, and they were excellent. Just enough garlic to taste without being all you taste. I also had the grilled mixed vegetables, and they were excellent also. They really know how to grill here. Just the right level to get a sear but not overcooked. My wife is a vegetarian, and she loved everything also. The appetizers of course and she had a baked potato and steamed vegetables. Vegetables were very fresh. She was quite satisfied. Service was great. Attentive enough that we had what we wanted without hovering. We will definitely be coming back.
