Shacksdale Motel - Featured Reviews (12)
Found this on our 3-week tour of the deep south, Fab place to stay and explore, stopped for one night, but ended up staying for 3 nights after enjoying it so much. The town itself is great, met the towns leader, and he was so helpful and knowledgeable. Went to a jazz bar, got back, and a heavy storm hit. It was lovely listening to the rain on the roof of our shack! The grounds have some amazing old vintage pieces. Will definitely return if we ever do a trip that way again.
We had been trying to get to Shack Up Inn for a long time. But to be accurate we stayed in the Shacksdale Motel. This is the other side of the road (single track) to Shack Up Inn and appears to be a part of the Shack Up Inn, sharing facilities, check in, gift shop etc.||Our welcome was quite 'quiet', but the accommodation was as expected and very quirky.||Although breakfast was from Wednesday on (bagels and cream cheese on other days) the bagels were all that was available.||There was live music from 5.30 on Wednesday which we went to and it was good. The service behind the bar was fine but not the usual 'southern welcome' we had become used to. I got the impression that although this was an amazingly different concept and unquestionably photogenic the staff were 'just doing their job'. Except Barry, Barry drove us into town to go to the music at Reds and to eat in town. Barry was a warm welcome, very kind and interesting and he massively made up for the 'too cool for school' feel of the rest of the staff.
Very bohemian-cool. Shacky is not the same as dirty (and this place looses no points on cleanliness), but if one is princess-fussy, one might move along. If you love the ordinary, likewise. Otherwise, this place is for you! This hotel is tops for cool. Just navigate to 1 Commissary Circle Rd. Google misses on the address location and the lobby is across the tracks anyway.
Just the best of the best! Nothing else to say!
Come here for the music, come here for the tales, in the home of the blues, theres no home better than Shacksdale!
Stellar time here - couldn’t be cooler or more comfortable spot to stay in the whole o’ the Delta. Say heyy to Jeem if you find your way here!
Loved it
Best place to let your hair down and chill out. Tell Bill, Toddie, and Semmes that I sent you.
When I visit Clarksdale Mississippi my family and I stay at the Hampton Inn because of the convenience it offers to our relatives. During this particular stay, Oct 28th-Oct 29th, I got to meet the most amazing staff! The woman that checked us in, I f
On a cold Wednesday night in January we came here after we saw a flyer a blue cotton bake shop we needed to check bad apples blues club out. And we are so happy that we did! It was a very special hart touching night with a lot of live music and histo
Go see the new sales associate Caressa for assistance. She was absolutely amazing. She made my experience of furniture shopping a whole lot easier. She was also very polite. She helped me to pick out the best furniture. I am very grateful.
Great night listening to "Reverent" Roberts. Met Stan Street as a wonderful host, working hard, like most of Clarkesdale, to keep the sound and those vibes alive. Thanks Stan!
What a neat, cozy little place off the beaten path. The food was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. If you are here, it's a must go, and if we get back through, we will be back.
