The best thing about this hotel is the location, the fact there there is actually on-site free parking, and the staff were kind. I was unimpressed in every other way. |The room was incredibly dark and dingy upon entering and finding a true light switch was difficult so I ended up turning on the bathroom light and literally all the lamps. The room was smaller than portrayed as well. It was obvious that attention to detail was not taken into consideration during cleaning as I found a stain of something and an old clothing sticker on the chair in the room. The additional lock on the door was broken off as well; if I hadn't been at the end of the hall on the top floor, I would have been concerned for my safety. Walls are absolutely paper thin; I was woken up to the neighbors talking at a normal volume at 7am. When my friend went to take a shower, she was showered with nasty soot and sediment from the shower head for the entirety of her shower. I understand plumbing is being worked on but there is no excuse for not running the plumbing so things like this are minimized. The toilet looks to have been fixed by a handy-man previously. I was told there would be breakfast in the morning but when we arrived, I found a very sad display of yogurt, cheap bagels, bread for toast, butter, and cream cheese. The OJ and tea were empty and had not been replenished. Overall, I was very unimpressed with my stay here and won't be staying here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
Greg was friendly and happy to help from the moment we walked in to check into to the morning we left. Attentive to find coffee packets for the room and a tooth Brush I forgot at home. This has been the friendly weekend stay I have had in a long spell, at a Hotel. Thank you so much for the Hospitality. :)
We're stayed for 3 nights and I can say that only negative things I can say are that the breakfast is kinda lacking in options and the room I stayed in had a slight odd smell to it and you could hear the noise coming from the hall. But one person I wanna shout out that has been giving us great service is the front desk guy Greg. He's been super helpful and kind to me and my brother, and is genuinely interested in conversation on how our experience in Kansas city is.
Positive: Hotel employee was the saving grace for this hotel. There is also a dark skinned young woman with green and black dreadlocks who worked in laundry that was most pleasant. The one manager we were able to find didn't want to own up to being manager and was Negative: Lack of amenities that drew us there and the general manager approved an unclean room for us to stay when we arrived close to midnight. No microwave in room, no cleaning or maintenance regularly done and there is NO breakfast! Will not return again.
I travel a lot and truly appreciate these little gems that are inexpensive yet comfortable, all needs are met, and have awesome staff. I will stay here every time I’m in Kansas City just to see Greg, who seems to work every day, all day and night. He made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. If you want to stay at the Hilton, go to a Hilton. If you want a lovely place with charm and personality that is easy on the budget, stay here and don’t be a Karen.
Was here for a funeral. Front desk lady offered happy hour free drink on a Thursday check in, which was great. Breakfast choices was good quality but lacking hot foods. There were apples, tea, coffee, orange juice, toast, bagels, and yogurt. Really did not like not coming back to a clean room after my first night. No housekeeping and was not informed of this at check in.
Decent room. Needs some TLC, door lock not working, paint cracked and loose in window trim. I hear renovation is in the works....
So...the door lock wouldn't open, two maintenance guys spet 3-4 hours on it. We were given a different room. The heater fan in the new room sounded like an airplane! We were eventually able to get back in original room. Throughout the ordeal, the clerk and maintenance guys were very helpful and kind. Kudos to the staff!
I chose this hotel for a 2-night stay this past weekend based on the online feedback of past guests especially for its location. Unfortunately, the room I stayed in has a distinct odor from either the carpet or the poor air circulation within the hotel. The water (both shower and bathroom sink) took more than 3-4 minutes to wait for the hot water to come through, that was a long wait I thought. I'm sure the management is aware of faulty conditions of their establishment, and they could improve on those existing issues and provide honest feedback on their website for transparency and accountability purposes. Otherwise, the location worked out for me, it's within the vicinity of the University of Kansas medical facility.

This is the place to be in KC. My husband and I had such an amazing experience at The Truitt. We loved everything about it. We loved the unique and luxurious decor, the ease of parking, comfort of the room and how easy it was to walk to the art museu
Large well appointed room in a great location to walk to the Art Museum. Very clean easy to check-in and out and nice common areas. Very comfortable bed and temperature control was perfect. Great hot shower. Private secure parking inside the fence
Very good service and staff. Everyone in the front counter was incredibly friendly, as well as the people from the service. Installations are clean, comfortable, in a very good state. Included wifi and guest laundry were a good bonus. And complementa
The room was wonderful and the breakfast was very nice. Everyone was very good to us. It was the best place we stayed over the course of our cross country trip. We liked the way that it seemed to match up with the vibe of the downtown. Our room was v
I absolutely love staying at 44 and coming to visit my friends. Although I am an employee of BMG, had I found this community on my own, I have no doubt I would have fallen in love with the community and staff. They have the best events and the best r
First of all we love the name! Two Sugars in Kansas City is such a cute name and coffee shop. We loved our latte and conversation with the owner. Iâll definitely be back to try their matcha!
I've dropped into the 11:30am class several times. Fantastic community, coaching, and workouts. Clean showers and bathrooms. Ample equipment and parking. Everyone I met was welcoming and interactive. The community has been together for many years and
