Not worth the detour from the main road in my opinion. If you are a fan of satellites 📡 and outer space communication networks then you will like this. If not, then likely not worth the detour. Just a few large satellites in a valley.
Awesome location with a lot of history and scientific value. Really cool just to see.
The older gentleman provided us with a really cool tour, even though he's just a volunteer. Definitely worth going to see if you're in the area, and it certainly is a unique experience.
Got there on a Friday at 2:30. The gates were closed and locked.
Had a great day catching up with Observatory staff and other colleagues. The ATA is now re-inventing itself - it’s great to be a witness to that. Looking forward to many great results ahead.
Awesome place, that people working there are really passionate and go out of their way to provide 1st class experiences. Make sure to turn off your phones or put them into Airplane mode!
Very interesting, we had a private tour and movie describing their research mission.
May be the most important research going on on this planet right now. Enjoyed the self-guided tour.
Good place to visit for the scientifically curious. You get to see the ATA42 receiver array and get an explanation as to how they operate. The receivers are huge and will leave strong impressions in kids.
Remember that these receivers are designed to pick up minute signals, so your cellphones, laptops and tablets should all be on airplane mode or shut off completely. There are multiple signs posted to remind you that.
