I recently dined at the Secret Sandwich Shop located at 501 E. Grace St. in Richmond, VA, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience. The restaurant's modern street-style ambiance, combined with its vibrant and social clientele, sets the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. The service here is top-notch, and our host, Ryan, deserves special mention for making sure everyone had a great time. He was quick, attentive, and added to the overall enjoyment of our visit. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the food. The quality of the dishes was excellent, and each item we ordered was cooked to perfection, served hot, and incredibly juicy. Whether you're a fan of Beef Burgers, conventional sandwiches, or salads, you'll find a fair selection of delectable options to satisfy your cravings. What's even better is that the prices are entirely reasonable, especially when you consider the exceptional service and the high quality of the food. It's a great value for the experience you receive. The restaurant's location is convenient, and there's ample parking in the area, making it accessible to a wide range of diners. In terms of cleanliness, the place is spotless and well-kept, which is always a plus. The atmosphere strikes a balance between modern and historical, drawing on the urban vibe of Richmond. It adds to the overall charm of the restaurant. I wholeheartedly recommend the Secret Sandwich Shop. I would absolutely return, and I rate this experience a solid 10/10. If you're in Richmond, don't miss out on this gem!"

Literally everything had so much flavor. We tried the Brussel sprouts which you can get two different ways, sweet potato fries, the fried fish sandwich, roasted cauliflower, and the hot wings. For it to be a sandwich place the wings were really good! Our server was also very knowledgeable about the menu. Great experience. :)

Secret Sandwich Society in downtown Richmond, Virginia: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Secret Sandwich Society in downtown Richmond is a hidden gem for mayo enthusiasts. If you love mayo-based sandwiches and sauces, this is your paradise. During my visit, the service was impressively quick and professional. Our waitress was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because she forgot to ask me if my side order was okay even though there was an ingredient missing because they had run out she just brought it out anyway and the main ingredient is what I really wanted so I would have appreciated her coming out to ask me if I still wanted it I probably would have gotten a different side but other than that she was fantastic. The sandwiches were delicious and unique. The combination of flavors and the quality of ingredients truly shone through. However, I have to mention that while I adore mayo, some sandwiches were a bit heavy on it for my taste. Secret Sandwich Society is a great spot for a quick, tasty meal with excellent service. It's perfect for mayo lovers seeking something different. Just be mindful of your mayo preferences when ordering. I'll definitely be back to try more of their intriguing creations. In summary, Secret Sandwich Society offers speedy service, mayo-centric delights, and a unique dining experience in downtown Richmond. Worth a visit for sandwich enthusiasts.

Recently visited the Richmond area and were in search of a lunch spot. My daughter suggested we try Secret Sandwich Society. It was a great recommendation and I'm glad we came. We opted to dine inside, it was busy on this Saturday afternoon, but we were quickly seated and our drink orders were taken right away. We decided on the crispy Brussel Sprouts with Feta, hot honey and a balsamic reduction for an appetizer. There was more than enough to share and they were delicious. I got the Roosevelt sandwich and decided to substitute the Parmesan garlic fries for the chips for a $2.50 upcharge. I should have stuck with the chips as the fries were kind of bland. The sandwich was delicious. There was plenty of roast beef and the horseradish sauce was perfect. My partner got the Dynamo burger ordered medium. His burger was cooked more medium well, but it was still very flavorful and juicy. No complaints from him. We decided to split the warm chocolate chip cookies. Our server said they were made in house, served warm and you get 3 to an order. They were pretty big, almost round shaped golf balls. Chocolate chip cookies are my absolute favorite, but I didn't really care for these all that much. They were kind of crispy on the outside, the inside was on the dry side, almost like a scone texture and not warm. The outside was warm, but the inside was actually cold. Overall, it was a great lunch and I will come back to try other menu offerings.

Nice spot downtown, was really busy after church. Parked in a lot not about a block away came in with the wife and kids. Very kind staff. The wife in I ordered a couple of smoked old fashions which we thought would come to the table with the smoke like some other places but this didn’t happen not sure what made it a smoked old fashion. Food was good I had the Truman with Lemon parmesan Brussels. Brussels were great the sandwich was ok. Bathrooms were clean. Think we spent about 93.00 after after tip of 20% This bought me and my wife both a sandwich with Brussels and two old fashions. Our kids split a grilled cheese with fries. Nice place glad we stopped in.

What a nice late lunch meal! Street or public parking one block away. Server was pleasant, fast and knew the food. Their seasoned chips were deliciously crisp with a pimento cheese dip. I enjoyed the Lafayette, a fried chicken sandwich with ham and cheese with a side of fantastic Brussels sprouts. The wife had a burger. (? Memphis…topped with onion straws) we will definitely be back.

Excellent place to eat in downtown Richmond. Love their sandwiches, burgers, and fries. Whether you get the truffle fries or the sweet potato waffle fries you can't go wrong. The homemade gluten free vegan chocolate chip cookies are delicious too. The Dynamo burger with bacon, Bleu cheese, crispy fried onions, and roasted red peppers is a definite winner too. I've never had anything bad here and the service is always exceptional. The staff is super friendly and super fast.

This gastropub came highly recommended, and it didn’t disappoint. I had my misgivings when the chips (made in-house) weren’t as fresh-from-the-fryer as I was expecting, but they were still good, especially dipped in roasted garlic mayo. In the kitchen’s defense, I DID get there less than an hour before they closed, and I wouldn’t expect them to start a new batch of chips at that hour. The atmosphere was nice, with interesting art that I *believe* a member of staff said was from a local trans artist, but don’t quote me on that. I ate at the bar, and Kathleen, the bartender, was great. She was busy closing up shop for the night, but that didn’t make her any less attentive, which was appreciated. I ordered the Adams (a roast pork sandwich) and crispy Brussels sprouts with hot honey, feta, and a balsamic reduction. The sandwich was good, but the Brussels sprouts were fantastic. I’m definitely going to have to try recreating that recipe at home. If you’re in the area and aren’t sure which of the many small restaurants and pubs to eat at, I would absolutely recommend the Secret Sandwich Society.
