Wonderful natural walking trails and a paved bike path. The walking trails aren't marked the best so its good to have a compass or phone app for assistance. The sandy areas are mostly compacted but be prepared for some soft sand.
Amazing park! Trails are well taken care of. Real Florida!
Did the white trail and merged into the blue trail. Most of blue trail is flooded or very mucky so be careful. Also saw wild boar back there so be very careful. Be prepared!
Nice park. Well maintained. The trails are clean, well marked (the south loop was, the yellow one and all are dog friendly). They're white sand and are exposed to the sun so I would suggest you plan for that as it makes it a much hotter hike/walk. There's also a paved walking/biking path. A small picnic area.
There's a nice paved bike path around the place. But if you're hiking, there's tons of sand and not a lot of shade at all.
Nice quiet park with ~5-5.5mi loop if you do the off-road trails. All trails are really well marked based on color shown on map. Flat, sandy.
Started with the white trail/north loop, which was a well kept narrow trail and part of it winded through pine forest with firmer ground (otherwise sand).
Tried to go on blue trail but super swampy and overgrown when I tried to cut over a couple times, as it intersected with the sand road that parallels the blue trail, instead wound up on white trail, wide and deeper sand, mostly all sun.
Finished up on the yellow trail, which ran parallel to a paved multi-use trail, back to main lot.
Nice scrub preserve. The paved bike path to Hobe Sound goes through the preserve, along with hiking paths. There is a picnic pavilion and a composting style restroom.
This is an excellent state park. There is an extensive trail system with descent signage. There is excellent wildlife habitat and dense vegetation. There are several parking spots for about a dozen vehicles. There are restroom facilities. Overall worth a visit.
This was a great hike! So beautiful, and if it weren’t for the horse flies, I would go back. I was attacked for it felt like a whole hour by horse flies, thankfully we were able to escape the trail through a neighborhood. I got some great pictures though! It was worth it!
