Sea Scape Inn - Motel in Daytona Beach - 2601 S Atlantic Ave, USA

This is an extremely old motel. It is noticeable as soon as you pull into the parking area. Everything is outdated & run down. Upon entering the office area to check in, I was greeted by a wonderfully pleasant Jamaican gentleman clerk. He was so very kind, helping me with restaurant suggestions & extra towels & blankets for us. He was definitely 1 of the high lights, if the only 1 this motel offered. I enjoyed our conversations. This was a last-minute reservation & it was inexpensive. I booked an ocean front room with a kitchen, 2 double beds & a sofa pull out couch, which I did not receive. After receiving my 1 house/door key, we unloaded all of our luggage & groceries to find out the elevator was out of order & we were on the 2nd floor. This is not an accessible friendly hotel. Once upstairs in our room, the floors, bathroom, mattresses & plastic patio balcony chairs were very dirty. I immediately went to the local dollar tree to stock up on cleaning supplies & returned to sweep, mop, wipe down, and disinfect the entire room, including kitchen area & bathroom. The box spring of 1 mattress had a hole in it. The fridge was rusted on the outside. The stove handle was loose & missing an inside rack. We bought our own cooking supplies. We didn't use the random supplies that were in the kitchen. We enjoyed access to the warm pool & and beach area. Other guests staying were friendly & there are plenty of options for food around. Quiet area, but I probably wouldn't stay here again with the other newer hotels around. I didn't really even bother to take pictures..

I feel like people just expect to much now a days, the reviews made me second guess myself, we went on a little beach trip for my nephews bday as well as my mom's first beach trip since having cancer treatment, and after getting to the hotel, checking in and making friends with the wonderful front desk gentleman Maurice who went above and beyond in every way!! being met with all friendly smiles In the office to getting to the room and smelling a clean room, the floor shining and a wonderful balcony view! We started just staying the night and ended up staying almost a week and came back the following weekend! You guys have made family out of us! It's not fancy or frilly and could've use some upgrades (they were doing some one the front of the building while we were there! So they are working on it!) but it is clean, comfy and laid back! For the price you can't beat it!! You will pay 20 dollars less for a room inland no where near the beach without a pool! This place is on the water, a beautiful pool although the night light needs fixed it's do inviting and definitely refreshing! I can't boast about this place enough! Thank you seascape! Can't wait to return! ❤️❤️❤️

My husband and I prepaid for 5 nights here, we have previously stayed in the past as well. Within the first hour we were discouraged due to the room we were put in. Above us was a family on vacation and boy them kids were having a blast which not so great for us 😁 i went to the office not to disturb the family making memories but for us as well to be able to relax. Jason was the staff member I dealt with and he was simply put "awesome". Very friendly, understanding, and quick to solve the problem. Due to staff member that cares both the family with young children and ourselves can enjoy this nice quiet getaway! Thanks again Jason if only we had mor people like you around!!!

Right on Daytona Beach The room we got put in was truly disgusting and haphazard. There was rust, mold, and dust on the ceiling fan. The AC unit was broken, beds were itchy, and the dead bolt on the door did not lock. The bathroom sink was truly deplorable and we did not stay the second night that we originally booked. Rusty on parts of the outside as well as inside. The room we stayed in was poorly cleaned and haphazard before we even showed up. Truly a disgusting place

Checked in with Maurice and the front end staff which was great. After checking in we had a Pet we walked on the beach. We decided there was a hose so we washed and dried our Pet off so the room won’t be sandy. After we returned to room less than hour checked in received a call from front desk to come to office. Maurice is as told by the owner to tell us to leave because of our Pet. The “owner” who was a coward never spoke to us as we requested to see him. Never gave his name when we asked for it. He said he wanted us to leave because he thinks the Pet will destroy the room. Our Pet is well trained and he assumed wrong. We had to leave without speaking to this coward he discriminated against our 4 month old Puppy. He then stated he didn’t want Pets there meanwhile there was numerous Pets with their families not asked to leave who we saw go back in rooms dirty and not cleaned off. In addition ,when the front end Clerk called the owner he said we could stay if we left 100 deposit in case the room smell like dog. The room was in terrible condition maintenance wise, many building codes were not met. The refrigerator did not work. See attached filth of the room.

We pride ourselves on HONEST reviews... so... We stayed here a week ago, for a week. Came down early, and we were able to get a room a day ahead. (Paid double the price for one night). That room would have been ok for the week (210), had the refrigerator works and the bed not have had a broken box spring. Older rooms, we are ok with that. Moved to our reserved room (107), the next day...beds were great there, but again, that frig did not work (freezer did) and the AC did not work. We tried to be nice, but the office was NOT accommodating at first. They were even ready to just be done with us and refund our reservation. However, they finally offered another room... 103.. we checked it out, beds great, AC worked, fridge worked. We stayed. Older place, needs a lot of uplifting, redoing, more than just a paint job. Sliding glass doors a bear to open, room door tricky as well. Did not use the rusty safe or the iron. Ceiling fan did not work. Table sticky, limited kitchen supplies. But for the price though Travelocity, Expedia, or Booking.. is worth it. Pool was nice (could have used a light for the area at night, in the pool so as not distract turtles). Shower off the beach did not work well, so people were rinsing their feet in the pool!!! Breakfast was Muffins, poptarts and fruit (apples), plus juice and milk, coffee. Low end place, don't expect high-end service. Employees worked hard to keep the place up. NO AC in laundry room for them to do sheets and towels. At 100 degrees, it was sickening for them for sure. We bought a broom to keep our room swept out. A mat at the door would have been nice. Bring your own towels, small and rough, but expected as people take them. Would we stay again, not sure, but probably no, unless we could look at our room first. Some of the staff were extremely nice and made us feel welcomed!! Some of them.

My husband and I stayed here on our way home from a cruise. They accidentally overbooked the rooms so they upgraded us to a suite for free! It's an older place, but seems to be very well-maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again!

Paid for balcony ocean view was unable to use the balcony the door was broken and when my husband went to open it the top half open and then slammed shut right on his shoulder causing him to dislocate his shoulder and the staff would not provide a refund or anything. It was the 4th of July and all the other hotels were booked so we were stuck. We had no choice but to stay and the bed was basically broken and caved in in the middle we had leave early and that’s when we had to rush to the hospital. We were even stuck on the balcony! Crazy I’m not able to add videos but I have videos of us stuck on the balcony for 30 minutes waiting for someone to come get us. These are screenshots
