We had a great brunch here. It was very busy even Portland just had a snowstorm. Make a reservation before will save yourself some long wait time. We were seated right away because we had a reservation. Food was not bad. Their fried oysters and fried catfish sandwich are delicious!
This place has gigantic portions (in a good way) and they expect you to bring the leftovers home for later, so be prepared! The food is tasty, and just when you’re getting full, you realize you’re only about halfway through your plate. There’s almost always a line so get a reservation. They fast track you a bit when you have one. The only downside here is parking is quite atrocious. It’s such a busy area that finding a spot takes a bit of navigating, patience, and luck. Overall, amazing brunch spot and will definitely come back again!
Fantastic dinners! Seafood Jambalaya was spicy without being over the top, Fried Chicken dinner was juicy, the collard greens were very flavorful and the mashed taters and gravy very fresh! The Fried Catfish meal was excellent with breading that was seasoned to perfection and very crispy- their mac-n-cheese is tasty and very creamy and the lemon vinaigrette Cole slaw is a nice variation! Desserts were on point and not overly sweet- Choccolate Espresso cake, Caramel Apple Cheesecake and the Banoffee Pie! So good, highly recommend!
Screen Door is a MUST try! Everything on our plate was flavorful. The portions are a large. The service was beyond amazing! ! Would highly recommend this place. It well worth the wait. We waited 30 minutes but would wait longer for the delicious 😋 food.
Great service and delicious food! First time visit and we love it! I highly recommend it when you're in the Eastside area. Coffee was fresh, banana foster french toast looked and tasted delicious. Chicken & waffle was great too, if you are into the sweet potato. Chicken was just in great taste. Huevos Rancheros was delicious with lots of beans. The staff, Dani, was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Also, she suggested some places to visit. Thanks for it! The service and payment were fast. Happy to visit again!
I love, love, love The Screen door! The food is Delicious. The service is Outstanding. The only thing lacking here is Space which is not their fault. I have been there for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner now and have enjoyed my experiences thoroughly. I would highly recommend getting there early as parking is hard to come by. Also do yourself a favor and make reservations because this particular restaurant has no problem drawing it's Patrons in.
I haven't had a breakfast like this in a while! I may be a little biased towards southern breakfast since it reminds me of what I ate growing up but this place is the real deal. We listened to the server's suggestion and ordered one savory and one sweet so we could get the best of both worlds. Highly suggest going that route. We ordered the chicken and biscuit, add egg and the banana foster french toast. Literally everything was phenomenal. Chicken was crispy and juicy. Gravy was thick and flavorful, very thyme forward which I love! Those biscuits are to die for. Someone puts a lot of love into those. Buttery soft inside, crunchy outside, perfection! Eggs cooked just right. Put them on top of the chicken biscuit and that was definitely the move. Even the breakfast potatoes were tasty. Fresh, crispy and well seasoned. The French toast was rich and delicious. Fluffy brioche. The bananas were perfectly caramelized. Even the whipped cream tasted like it was made in house. On top of how delicious it was it was very filling, we had leftovers, and all the staff were so stinkin sweet. We adored our server Kat. We absolutely will be back! Best breakfast I've had in Portland thus far!
I'm visiting from out of town with my husband; and as we drove around this little place caught our eyes. Looks unassuming, and kinda quaint - but boy, is it anything -but-! We were greeted warmly (like regulars!) Our server was fantastic, very friendly and outgoing Soft spoken but gave off great vibes, the whole place did! Food was amazing, and boy did it look great too! Everything was plated amazing, the lighting in there helped a mil. Everything was just lovely. We'll definitely be dropping by every time we're in town (the praline bacon was an instant hit, try it!).

We love screen door. By far our favorite breakfast joint in downtown. Itâs comfort foods at its best. The fried chicken is juicy, crispy & salty which pairs well the sweet potato waffles. I got shrimp & cheesy grits. Which was good. But I prefe
I love this spot. They have one of the best cappuccinos in Portland. The staff is always kind, and friendly. And the tunes are always on point. Pro tip: ask for sugar crunchies on your capp. You wonât regret it!
