Various types of invasive plants are quite common in California. It is no different on the coastal cliffs of Crystal Cove. Coppery mesemb (Malephora crocea) is a flowering perennial herb native to Africa. The coppery mesemb is an ice plant and is considered a noxious weed here. It is used as ground cover in areas that often see wildfires because coppery mesemb has very low flammability. He is an intruder, but he is beautiful :-)

Beautiful place to swim. Long walk on steep hill down and back up to parking lot. Public restrooms in parking lot. Once you get down to fhe water there is no shops, food, or bathrooms. The waves can get pretty rough. 15 dollars for all day parking.

Beautiful California Beach. Long walk down the cliff. But worth the walk. Beautiful Sunsets

Clean and nice. Alot of stairs down to the beach. Not good for the handicapped or people with issues walking/taking stairs. Overall, very nice!

The beach and tide pools are amazing. Unfortunately the bathrooms are at the top of the cliff.

If you want to have a chunk of beach only to yourself come here!
