Schuylkill River Trail - Betzwood Parking & Trailhead - Hiking area in Norristown - Sullivans Ln, USA

Date of first visit: Wednesday October 18, 2023. There was plenty of parking on the beautiful weekday this morning. I really enjoy this trail very much and I wish I could live closer. I'd be here every day if I did. There was plenty of room to set up my bike. After my ride I enjoyed my lunch on one of the picnic tables. I'll be back in the spring.

Valley Forge NH-Betzwood Picnic Area Parking sign says there is parking for 80 cars. There is also parking for vehicles with boat trailers with access to the Schuylkill River. Restrooms are located in this area.

Great trail, Started from Betzwood Park, it's nice and paved and flat to go to Philly. Word of warning stay with the daylight. Norristown and other areas are kind of sketchy after dusk.

Great paved bike trail. Kayak along the river was fun.

Great parking location close to the Schuylkill River Trail. You can get some amazing photos on the nearby bridge. Just make sure to bring some insect repellant during the summer, as there can be a lot of bugs buzzing around the banks of the river.

Flooding, disconnected water fountains, and limited parking have made this location less than ideal. If you are looking to start a run or ride here on the weekend it might be a little crowded and you'll need to bring your own water. It's still great that this is here but it really needs to be maintained better.

The river trail is absolutely beautiful. I took it all the way around its about a 10k. The lower portion closest to the river is a pretty level smooth running surface. I took the upper route on the way back and it was like and adventure trail, a lot more difficult. Still an amazing run, one of my favorites. There are restroom facilities at the parking lot and plenty of parking spaces.

Nice extension of Valley Forge Park. Access to the Schuylkill River paved trail, as well as a nicely groomed unpaved trail that runs right alongside the river. Has bathrooms with running water and a drinking fountain. Just be extremely cautious when entering the park since it is a complex 5-way intersection where the bikers will often forget they have to stop before crossing as well!
