Schaller's Ridge Road - American restaurant in Rochester - 559 East Ridge Road E, USA

Was my first time going into Schaller's, more of a surprise than anything else. Sometimes a gem falls into ones lap. I ordered the Fish Fry and was not disappointed. I usually do not give a five star rating the first time I eat somewhere. But I have to make an exception this time. Schaller's is a place you definitely want to try for the Fish Fry. The restaurant is clean, the staff are friendly, and the food is great. I've been in Rochester for a long time, growing up in Webster, but never stopping here before. I won't make that mistake again. I also want to take the time out to thank the person who took my order. Her name is Sam, and she really seems to like working there. Thanks again Sam for the good conversation, and making an old man feel young again, you were my one blessing for the day! The only request from me is that they update the prices on their website. They are misleading. That was the only downside to my experience. Again, stop at Schaller's, you won't be disappointed. One of the best Fish Fries in Rochester.

I love the burgers and hot sauce here. These are the burgers that I trust to be the highest quality for the price in Rochester. But the staff here are always particularly fabulous. They always seem to have enough staff so that you get the same server from beginning to end, and they always make sure everything is exactly how you want it. Love it here!

Wish I could honestly give a review on the food but unfortunately as I tried to order online, don't do it by the way, my card had to be put in multiple times and it wouldn't work, I refreshed the page and when I did it changed to my recent location and redirected my order to this default Schallers. I am beyond upset and had been looking forward to this meal all day long, great start to the New Year and wish I was able to give an honest review, this place was recommended by family but this experience has left an impression on me. Thankfully I was able to get a refund but for online ordering it shouldn't be as difficult as it was. I will hopefully be able to give a more honest review of the food but that won't be for a while. Avoid if you are new!

Schallers has been serving me the best, $6.50 burgers for 40 years. You can get a big cup of ice water for free. The French fries are good, and plentiful. You'll be be sorry you couldn't leave a tip. It's self service. Get everything on your burger. Perfetto.

Smells great from the outside but entering in the smells turns to be more like old grease. Floors are dirty. Decor is old and out of date. It doesn’t look or feel clean. Don’t accept Apple Pay. Plate price seems high for only getting on me burger and the meat sauce wasn’t spicy enough and was a little watery. Overall it’s okay but not a place I would visit frequently. Staff is polite and they work efficiently and quickly.

I hate to give a low rating but I'm very disappointed on how lackluster my food taste. Almost like it was frozen and warmed up in the microwave. Not only that but my tenders were nearly burnt to a crisp. Not sure if the workers care in the back but that's unacceptable.

Love it here. Just happened to be nearby. Wish there were more locations. If I were them I would start offering chicken wings as well. Only fresh wings though not the frozen ones and make a plate out of it. Fresh wings makes all the difference. Also, consider making your own freshly made FF like In n’ Out does to differentiate yourselves from all of the other burger places. It really wouldn’t cost you that much more in labor to do so. Also, keep the pickles. Love them!! Also, not sure if you have this but offer a fried egg for the burgers as well. Yummy!!

Growing up my mother would always bring me and my brothers here on weekends, sometimes even weeknights😊 We still come here all the time, and now with her grandkids, they LOVE SCHALLER'S just as much as we do lol😂 This place always feels like home whenever we visit. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The great part about here is that they are always fully staffed and very fast. Thanks for still being around all these years later and remaining the same great people that I remember when I was a kid.🥰
