Sawmill Campground - Featured Reviews (106)
This is a great campground if you have a stopover or just want a quiet place to land. Unfortunately the reviews are correct about the campground owner. I have had a couple years to simmer down about my interactions with him. My conclusion he is not a people person and should not be the person they put in contact with those who come to the campground as he is not very personable. With that being said that is his personality. They would do better to have a different person out front greeting and checking in so that others don’t get the wrong impression. If you overlook that, the rest of your stay will be just fine. It is a no-frills campground, but it fulfills your needs if you’re stopping over or you have something going on in town And need a place of rest. We are hoping to return there in the next month or so for another family gathering. I will arrive there with a totally different mindset, knowing how I may. (Probably may not) be greeted. I will be OK with it this time though 😉😊!
Do not bother camping here. The owners "handyman" mowed site yards on a Saturday evening which was NOT requested by campers. He hit our large slide out with the bar of his riding mower and damaged it trying to get out. Not only does the owner refuse to provide insurance information- but the entire staff lied about the incident repeatedly!! The owner cannot be trusted and the campground itself is not worth the risk in staying here.
We have stayed here many times. We like it, but they have an old school, write the reservation on a calendar type management system. They have lost our reservation twice, and lost our large camper site requirement once. Make sure to follow up with them before your stay!
I was going to rate this 3 stars for the accommodations. I stayed on the tent side, not the RV side. In my opinion the RV side is better because it is far less muddy and there are trees but not so many that the mosquitos are bad. The RV side also has the newer restroom but there is no water pressure, NO HOT WATER, and it’s closed sometimes for unknown reasons even though there are still plenty of people there. The tent side is extremely muddy and the mosquitos and spiders were insane. There was no relief whatsoever because you couldn’t get out of the trees. The reason I ended up only giving one star is because the owner accosted me this morning as I was leaving and called my son stupid for forgetting to turn off the light on the bathroom. We then got into an argument because he was wouldn’t allow me to use the dumpster, telling me he isn’t a dump and that he has to pay to have the trash hauled away. This is also when he told me my kid is stupid because he forgot to turn off the light. I really tried to take the high road.. I did. He can’t hear calm and collected though, he just repeats himself. Instead I argued back and called him an a*hole for calling a kid who made a relatively harmless mistake stupid. After I went back to my site to finish cleaning up, he drove his truck over and parked it in front of mine and then started arguing all over again. Again, calling my son stupid and trying to intimidate my son ( a tall kid, but still a kid) by stepping up to him with his chest puffed out while he insulted my son in his personal space. Honestly it was all so ridiculous! He just kept telling me he runs a tight ship around here because he pays the bills so he expects people to follow the rules. I get that, I do. But he is an idiot for going about it all wrong. So unpersonable, I was warned to stay away from him by 4 other guests during different conversations within a couple of days of being there. We made it the whole week with no issues, day we check out he has a tantrum about how my son didn’t turn off the light one time earlier in the week. What a guy! I would not recommend staying here if you have other choices. The camp host, Chrissy, was really great! Super nice and she and her partner helped me put together my tent.
1. Very friendly and responsive when calling. 2. Easy to get to most spots, decently level. 3. Good feel overall, neighbors all seem very friendly. .. Will definitely stay here next go around.
It seamed more like a place to stop on the way through, very clean and well kept level spots and full hook ups pull in and set up was fast.I know because it was Dark and rainy when we did. When we got here I checked in and they lead me to my spot in the dark very simple and good service, but double check before you get there, to confirm your spot, the man we talked to seamed a bit confused, but all was good and went well. Over all it is a good camp ground.
If you want a nice and quiet place to rest and relax this is your place. A wonderful place to get in touch with nature and find yourself!
it was a very cute little campsite. they had a fun play ground too. we stayed for only two nights but since it was chilly out, there wasn’t very many people there. i don’t know how many people stay there in summer but go in fall! ****************

I love this place. It's so fun and comfortable. The teas are delicious you pick your own teacup and saucer, choose your own available seating, there is a rack with all sorts of fun hats for a marvelous tea date. First went with my husband then decide
I visited the one in Lakeville which is one of my favorites. So, when I went to the Minniopa state park I decided to stop in this one and it was a great choice. The food is the most delicious Mexican food that you can get. ð¯ Recommended
Fairly decent family-owned business that gets orders out the door at a reasonable time. From my own experience, the food is delectable and the prices more than reasonable for what you get. I'm always happy to come back for seconds and thirds here.

Shoutout to Danne, the General Manager, for her excellent customer service! My husband and I are new to Culver's and we think it's infinitely better than other fast food chains!
