Sawgrass Point Apartments - Apartment complex in Gonzales - 2163 Veterans Blvd, USA

I am a current resident here. I must say, this apartment complex is beautiful. Although, it has not been the same since Christina left. This is not the complex I signed up for. Things always seems to be broken, gates, key fobs, grills, pool, etc…. which is a safety hazard. They have residents that have pets, that leave poo, urine, throw up in the elevators and hall. When reported to staff, you only get an apology. The smell of urine is so strong at times, you can smell it in your home. To say you pay a significant amount to live in luxury, this apartment complex is going down hill. The upkeep of this property is lacking. We had a power outage and had to use the stairwell. No security, not even a light to guide you up and down the stairs. They once gave community events, to at least show residents appreciation. That no longer happens, even though they are fully staffed. They do the very least to understand their tenants and accommodate us as life happens, but want us to understand all the issues that frequently occur on their behalf with this property. If you are willing to pay high wages with low budget quality…. Welcome Home! If you are ready to deal with a friendly staff, that always seem to be clueless… again, Welcome Home! It is an apartment complex that is being built down the street, if you can hold out, please do so. I know I can’t wait until this lease is up.

Hello I've been a resident at Sawgrass Point Apartment for years and love it here! The staff is nice and great here. Lately me and my husband have been looking to transfer because I need more room and Assistant Manager Christina S, has been very helpful and gave us an exceptional tour and had so much patience and knowledge about the apartment complex. She answered all of our questions and exceeded our expectations.

I’ve been living at Sawgrass Apartments for a year and recently renewed my lease because the property is worth living in. I love the hotel style hallways and lobby. The resort style pool. The gym facility is by far the nicest I’ve seen for an apartment complex. Lastly the exceptional customer service and professionalism displayed by the Asst Property Manager Christina also assisted me in my choice to renew. She listened to my wants and needs and ensured that I received everything that I requested. Christina deserves a 5 star rating alone because she always made me feel at home and provided the best service to myself and family. Lastly the limited work orders for repairs or assistance that I’ve placed are typically resolved within 24 hours or less.

Review I lived at this complex for two years. Cons: Most rules at this property are up to the tenants to enforce. The amount of dog waste that isn’t picked up is significant. There have been occasions where the dogs can’t make it outside and relieve themselves in the hall and the owners don’t care enough to clean up. The guests and hours rules are very loosely enforced at the pool. The pool was infrequently open during the summer of 2023 with a closure at least once a week when it got too dirty because the filter system wasn’t working. There was also a significant number of non-residents that were over the two guest limit at the pool. People would have entire parties there which would last after the pool closure. Pool parties meant zero quiet time for residents who lived by the pool. The grills, under the structure at the pool, couldn’t be used for over a year due to incorrect installation and the property was in no hurry to fix it (reference Scot Byrd’s review for that saga). I’ve heard from friends still there that the grills are now fixed but only after the city had to step in and force it to happen. Security is an illusion at the complex. It’s visible at the back of the complex that the fence bars are bent to sneak in and people wait in the drive for a resident to open the gate and just follow them in. These people get in at will to use the pool or other nefarious ventures (again reference Scot Byrd’s review). One buildings fob entry system hasn’t worked for more than a few months and the doors are zip tied open for anyone to enter. The use of pot also increased at the complex, the property did send out multiple emails but the problem didn’t go away. Pros: The inside of the apartments are above average as it still seems new. Most of the staff is approachable and easy to work with. Interior apartment maintenance is usually pretty prompt. In summary, this place gets 2 stars because it’s one of the two best options in Gonzales. There isn’t much pressure from the market for them to raise the bar without any competition.

Update, September 2023: The grills have not worked by the pool for OVER A YEAR!!!! Update March 2023: For the SECOND TIME since we have lived here, a vehicle parked right next to one of ours has had ALL FOUR TIRES stolen. In the picture, the black Tahoe is mine and the white truck is sitting on cinder blocks. The other car with all four tires stolen was a blue Honda. There are multiple broken water leaks all along the walking path around the pond. Been like that a while now and for months once before. Grills around pool inoperative for MONTHS!! Still inoperative as of March 2023. Access door from mailroom broke for months! Fence broke for months! Impossible to enjoy the clubhouse on weekends when staff not present because the alarm is constantly emitting a loud high pitched beeping noise. Be aware that the mgmt routinely closes the Clubhouse to residents for rental to other people WITHOUT reasonable notice. The most recent example was 30 minutes notice. This means you may invite your friends - who may live halfway across the state - to join you there for a game of billiards, a cocktail and to watch the game, only to find out AT THE VERY LAST MINUTE, that the clubhouse is closed for residents. The lease says use of the clubhouse, pool and fitness center is a privilege, not a right. Tenant use is at the mgmt's sole discretion. Recently, Friday April 15, 2022 at 2 pm the gates to the pool were chained shut. This is during the day! No reason at all. The amenities are great. The staff are nice. Rules are not enforced. Security is lax. Four tires just stolen right outside the entrance to our building. Lots of noise at the pool after midnight, even though it's supposed to close at 10 pm. Nobody enforces it. Update, Aug 2021: They now close the pool at 8 pm and often, but not always, enforce it. Too many people who don't live here AT ALL take over the pool. Nothing has ever been done about that. So, it makes it difficult for the residents who pay rent to enjoy the pool, usually late in the afternoon until it closes. Pretty rowdy bunch.

I’ve been a tenant at Sawgrass Point since April of this year, and I can say I definitely love it! No matter the severity of my issue, they are quick to respond and get things fixed. Mariela has been our leasing agent that has helped us threw the whole move-in process as well as any questions I have had since moved in. I greatly appreciate her. The fun get togethers they do in the clubhouse also boosts moral I love it so much. Thank you Sawgrass Family!

I’ve have lived here for a few months now and so far I am enjoying it! Mariela at the front desk has been helpful and any complaints are handled immediately! She makes fresh cookies everyday and they are amazing! The amenities are great and I love the spacious gym and patio area!

I love Sawgrass Point Apartments! I’ve lived here for 18 months and my husband’s job has us moving. The staff has always been helpful and friendly! Jeremiah has done a fabulous job cleaning the public spaces. They take pride in their work. The pool was closed a good portion of the summer but it’s been fixed now and looks great.
