Savannah's Waterfront - Tourist attraction in Savannah - 1 W River St, USA

If you are planning to visit Savannah, this is the place to go! It's really nice place to walk around. The old buildings are unique and stunning and the scenery is so beautiful. Whether you go with friends, lovers, or family, I'm sure you'll love this place! Oh, and it's definitely a pet-friendly area. Take dog for a walk besides river, and it's easy to find a restaurant with a patio where you can dine with your dog.

While on the waterfront, ride the FREE FERRY. This is not a narrated tour with a guide, it's just workhorse transportation designed to move people from one side of the river to the other. However, riding the ferry provides a different perspective of the waterfront, allowing you to take photos from on the river. The ferry makes a circuit of three stops in about a half hour. Two of the stops are on the Savannah side, at the Marriott hotel and at the JW Marriott, and the third is across the river on the convention center side, at the Westin. Completely free, and there's no problem if you ride the entire loop -- no one will make you get off earlier,

Walking along the waterfront in Savannah is a treat for all the senses! We met great people and dogs alike.

This is one of our favorite places to go. Great food, shopping, art. Nightlife is great also! Always a lot of walking, so wear comfy shoes. Sightseeing is absolutely beautiful, you can go many times and still not see everything there is to offer plus Tybee is a short drive from River Street!

First place we went to after checking in to our hotel. It’s a long waterfront and you can spend couple of hours there easily. The walk at the waterfront is calming. You can see the blend of history and modern architecture. The globe, the bridge, the historical steps. Dozens of shops there. Candies to antiques to bargain clothes. It has all. Add to it multiple food joints, rooftop bars. It is wholesome package. You will not get bored.

Beautiful place, so many little shops and historical stories around the area. I couldn't think of a better place to visit if you're in the surrounding area of course! There are boats that past by all the time. It's a nice stop for travlers, i definitely recommend visiting!

Savannah River street is a great unique place to visit and walk around. Beautiful scenery along the Savannah River, watching the large container ships and tug boats coming in and out of the Savannah Ports is always very entertaining. We love going to several of the local restaurants and roof top bars (we are still exploring them all). You can park on the South Carolina side and ride the free ferry which runs a consistent schedule until 10 pm, or you can park along the Savannah side and pay for parking in a parking garage and then walk down to River Street. This is a great family friendly area during the day but tends to transform more to an adult environment as the sun goes down. We take several family members that come up to visit us in Hilton Head over to check out the Savannah River Street while they are in town (usually during the day and we leave shortly after sunset). There is plenty of shopping, unique food, generally live music from street performers, ice-cream, candy shops etc. - just a neat place to walk around and enjoy. There are several large events per year held down there with vendors set up selling items and art, there is a Christmas boat parade along the Savannah River every year and a few times per year they will have fireworks along the river as well.

Absolutely beautiful waterfront with many restaurants and shops for all your souvenirs.
