I sent a photo and Savages only had 2 days to accommodate my request for a tombstone cake. Not only did they deliver but the cake looked excellent. It tasted even better. Not surprised they did so well, but was extremely pleased. Thank you!
We were so disappointed. Bought a yellow cake with caramel icing and something was dreadfully wrong with the icing. Tastes terrible. My husband says burnt. I just don’t know.
We have always loved Savage’s and I really hate this.
Gave it a 1 because the cake part is just fine.
One of the best bakeries in Birmingham! The staff are always so cheerful and helpful and there’s yet to be any baked goods that aren’t to die for! The olive spread they have for sale in their store front selection is also perfect for charcuterie boards for your next hosting event!
We don't eat those little orange smiley face cookies because they taste good (they don't). We eat them because they've been making the people of this city happy since the great depression. Maybe they were considered a delicacy back in the 1930s when things like butter and sugar were harder to find, but now they are an artifact. When we eat these weird, plastic looking wafers, 5 generations of Birminghamians smile with us.
Birthday cake time again. Never disappointed. I promise it taste as good as it looks...lol
A Homewood tradition but the last several times I picked up cookies for the office I was disappointed. They were hard as rocks and the flavor was bland. The smiley face cookies had to go straight to the trash. 😞
I believe that there is a downtown Homewood trifecta - Savage's Bakery, O'carr's Restaurant, and O'Henry's Coffee Shop. At Savage's I highly recommend the sugar cookies and the fudge drops. Both are delicious! I'm sure everything else is good, too, but those are my favorite.
Simply PERFECTION! At Savage's Bakery I feel as if I'm stepping back in time to an old fashioned bakery where the staff is still so friendly and the goodies are all freshly made and are certainly to die for! I live 70 miles away, but I will make the long drive to Savage's often because I cannot find another bakery other than Savage's that still makes a "true" petit four...and theirs are deelish!! They make every type of cookie, cake, muffin, bread and pastry that you can imagine and more. Try their authentic petit fours, cheese straws and the french pastries. I simply LOVE this place! 🍰🍩🍪
I had been in here once before looking for Halloween outfits, but I went in here looking for professional ware and just casual items last weekend. I was very surprised! They have such a cute display when you walk in where everything is themed by deca
Very happy to came this store by friends recommendation. Very clean, well organized, good selection, veggies kept in different room, all looking good, meat fresh. People are nice, and I got my tagine! 25 years in business! Health score 98!
This was my first time eating here and I chose the lunch time rush. There was only a short line and when I got to the counter the staff were welcoming and took time to answer my questions. I was a little concerned that we would not find a table, but
