Satellite Inn - Motel in Alamogordo - 2224 N White Sands Blvd, USA

The room was clean and the person at the front desk couldn’t have been kinder. -I had a broken leg and he went out of his way to make sure everything was good for us. Easy to get to location, and you could tell they were upgrading many things. Very appreciative to everyone there.

The lady was nice.Family room was definitely big enough for our family but the room wasn't very clean.... There was hair and dead bugs and used soap in our bathroom and the bathroom was sooooo dirty... Brown stuff all over the walls and the water wouldn't get hot at all for the shower and I also got sprayed in the chest with water from the side of the tub because the knob was broken.... There was food spilled on one of the bed covers that looked like it never got washed.... Also went to get ice at one point for our cooler bag and the manager came out in some skimpy shorts acting like we were doing something bad.... Probably won't go back and don't recommend. Also seems like there are multiple complaints about the same thing, we definitely should have gotten our money back and I'll be reporting them.

Positive: Nothing. I should have paid a higher price for a better motel. Negative: Non smoking room smelled like smoke. Comforter was full of cigarette burns. The replacement was not any better. If anything it was worse. The dead bolt didnt lock which made me feel unsafe. The mechanism to open the door with the key card did not work. Negative: ""

Positive: This was a low budget hotel but cost me the same as a night at a nicer one. Meanwhile they acted like six people was too many in a room with three double beds and a couch. They also knocked twice before checkout and asked if we'd heard dogs. Slummy. Negative: I couldn't believe how snoopy and rude they were. We just wanted a quiet place to sleep and they didn't manage that. Negative: ""

Sink ran slow, furniture was ratty and stained, bathtub looked like it was held together with silly putty, toilet seat was in bad shape, lights were dim, fridge looked like it had been thrown out of a window, sheets were stained... I could go on. I did pick a smoking room, but that's still no excuse for all these issues. Only reasonable thing was that the hot water worked. I don't require much. I'm not a very neat person. I like camping and other no-frills type of adventures. That being said, even I was repulsed by the room. The family who runs the place seems like they pick up furniture out of the garbage - they have a little shack outside filled with desks and chairs that the husband tries (in vain) to refinish. I respect the hustle but I it's just not a nice place to stay. I would rather sleep in a hollow log and drink muddy water than pay money to stay here again.

For a budget friendly motel it’s on par. It would be unfair to rate it against like a Marriott or something like that. The a/c worked, looks like they remodeled the unit. It had all the basic amenities you would expect. I appreciate their check in flexibility.

The manager loves to scream at customers, read all the reviews of all the people with the same problem. This place is dirty, scam, unprofessional, rude, fraudulent… The place is so bad that people wanna leave and forfeit what they paid. This guy will come in your room yelling and demanding money for things that were not in the policies when you made the reservation. Probably rents the same room 5 times a night making people leave again and again and because of the non-refundable policy cash in-cash in… Don’t be conned like so many have. Run no matter how cheap it seams it’s too expensive to have to put up with the disrespect, discomfort and dishonesty. Whoever the Owner of this hotel is: This guy “ROY THE MANAGER” is BAD FOR BUSINESS… Soon you will get a lawsuit or even worse keeping abusive aggressive staff like that. Customer service is everything in hospitality and ROY is a liability for the good name of your future guests.

The host that checked us in was absolutely wonderful. Room was great. Location was great. The same host and her husband checked us out. There hospitality was above and beyond. I highly recommend this hotel. Will be back the next time we come through Almagordo New Mexico.
