A really beautiful collection of historic exhibits. Lot of stories about the life of the first settlers and immigrants. The biggest collection of coaches and carriage west of the Mississippi. One of the best processed collections gives easy access to the matter. Highly recommended!
Santa Ynez Historical Museum is a "Hidden Gem" in the Santa Ynez Valley, just when U thought all was to see in Solvang, just drive East 10min further & find the Museum & Carriage House with amazing sit down courtyard, Cool exhibit rooms, 1800's & early 1900's relics older than your grandparents. Jaw dropping custom crafted Cowboy Saddles & ahh just too much to express. So I'll let the pics tell a lil story.. Have fun on your visit.. Ask for Joleen, Dottie, Krissy or Shoshana! 1luv to maknkind
We took the Express transit from Solvang and was excited to check out this little museum. Came here and there was a sign on the door that said please ring the door bell and someone will be with you. It was a Saturday and their hours are from 12-4. We got there at 3 and rang the doorbell twice. No one came but we saw that there was a private event soon to happen because people were setting up in the back courtyard. We flagged someone and they got the owner. He said sorry they have a private event and that they were closed. Asked if we were here tomorrow. Umm..very unprofessional. It would be helpful if they had a disclaimer on the website saying that they would be closed for a private event on this date then we would have not made the visit. It was inconvenient and inconsiderate of the owner. Would have been nice if he would let us in for 10 minutes or so. Glad we only spent $3 round trip from the Express Transit instead of a double digit through ride share.
Wonderful historical carriages and artifacts! Very nice lady checked us in. It’s super cheap with a $5 entry fee and has clean restrooms
So much to see here! So much to learn! Looks small from the outside but it's a pretty good size museum with an amazing historical collection! Definitely recommend especially for Santa Ynez natives! Always good to know about our beloved town's history!
If you are a history buff, especially local history, you will enjoy this place. Its somewhat small which makes it an easy place to visit on short notice. Docents are always nice.
Wow, those carriages are so big and each a different style for different purposes. Going back into the western days. Wonderful museum !
Incredible collection of carriages, most of any museum west of the Mississippi. Also great collection of horse saddles and historical information on the Santa Ynez Valley

Alicia at Lucky Hen went above and beyond for our catering order. The platters were stunning and all my guests raved about the food. Thank you so much!
Wonderful dining experience. Love the food, the drink and really delightful service team! Glad we picked here to celebrate crossing into the new year. All dishes we ordered were nicely executed, from texture to flavor, unpretentious, just delicious.
It's absolutely one of my favorite places to go to dinner. I highly recommend that Prime ribeye or their special seafood dish are definitely my go-to dishes. The bar tenders make great drinks, and they also carry local beers. I highly recommend makin
We LOVE dos carlitos! Been coming here for years, whenever we pass through Santa Ynez. We even visited two days in a row this past weekend.... They have amazing salsa, to die for margaritas (Cadillac, baby!), food, and service. I always get their tw
Great pastries, and wonderful service! The fruit was fresh, the waffle was perfect, my friend loved her coffee, and my vegan burrito was flavorful. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, and parking is super easy. New go-to breakfast spot!
We ordered a large pizza. Dough was great. My wife liked the sauce, I would have preferred a little more spice. It was brought to us hot and looking great. Will eat here again.
As always, we are greeted like family. The check in staff is great especially Rosio who always ensures we are well taken care of. The smash burgers at the food court as outstanding. Breakfast in the morning in the Cafe is great. Just wish the "
