Very nice walking area, picnic area and fishing area. It was very quiet and has nice scenery. The park looked nice but was closed due to the virus. Amended for 2023... This is always one of our stops when we are on the Outer Banks. We fed the turtles (didn't see a sign against it) and even saw a snapping turtle! We did have one uncomfortable encounter with a very bold raccoon trying to get food. An overall great time!
Cute little park with a .5 mile boardwalk for all ages to enjoy. You can see turtles, fish, and crab in the water. Dog friendly as well!
Great park to walk around the turtle pond! The board walk is longer than it seems! Small play set and basketball court!
We thoroughly enjoyed this park. The action-packed wildlife experience began mere steps from the parking lot as my son heard noises coming from the trash can from an unidentified mammal enjoying a nutritious meal. We enjoyed feeding more turtles than we could count. They seemed to like the kale and celery that we brought them. A raccoon rummaged around not far from us, right at the waters edge. An osprey carried a fish to its nest to feed its young (presumably, although it could have been bringing back dinner for a lazy spouse enjoying some TV time). Overall 10/10 experience. Will certainly do it again. Gained substantial XP from this adventure. Highly recommend to anyone that enjoys cool stuff.
I really really enjoyed this park. It's not your typical playground kind of park. It's a beautiful walk on a boardwalk through nature looking for the turtles, and you will find them. Lol It's a 1/2 mile loop on all level ground. A wheelchair could easily do this. It was so peaceful. I felt as if I was in a little jungle. One thing I noticed was the turtles 🐢 seem used to being fed and we had nothing for them. 😕 Not sure what they like to eat, so look that up before you go. There were no signs saying you couldn't feed them. There is also a designated fishing area. I hope you enjoy this park as much as we did.
There are so many turtles to feed! If you go to the gazebos there are ramps down to the water and the turtles will definitely come out. They seemed to really like apples and carrots. There are some snapping turtles, so we used tongs to feed them. So much fun and the walking path is really nice as well.
Sandy Run Park was a very nice hidden gem away from all the touristy, beachy areas of Kitty Hawk. It was a beautiful place to enjoy the natural beauty of this area. The .43 mile walk on a nice boardwalk was very enjoyable. All along the walk were plaques of information about the plants, trees and area; all very interesting. There are designated fishing areas. A peaceful place to kayak or canoe. And so many turtles! We have never seen so many turtles in one place! Well kept picnic areas along the path and a nice playground for kids. And because it is dog friendly, we will return!
It's a great little park with boardwalks, fishing, turtles in the water, and exercises as you explore the scenery. I highly recommend a visit.

Such a great find! The beach house we shared with family this summer wasn't quite big enough for everyone so we chose to stay a few nights elsewhere. What a great decision! The western view of the sound and sunset was beautiful and the room was perfe
Excellent meal! We shared the pear salad, which was plenty for 2 people and our entrees were also huge portions. Tasty fresh bread and appetizers. Get there early since they donât take reservationsâdoors open at 5 pm. ð
First place we ate at on our vacation. We love these hole in the wall places. The tacos had a little bite to them but were oh so good and the sauce on the burger made me want another.
If you haven't been here for breakfast, you're missing out. Art's breakfast is like going to grandma's on Sunday. The biscuits are made in house and will blow your mind. The toast is bakery style and amazing. There fresh fruit really is fresh and so

This was our 4th time staying at the Sea Scape. It might not be on the beach, but it's close enough and who can complain with 3 pools to choose from and all kind of fun activities for kids on up. Hopefully, next year we will be back. Also the staff i
