Sandcastle Inn & Motel - Motel in Old Orchard Beach - 105 Atlantic Ave, USA

Nous avions réservé au Sandcastle inn motel pour la nuit du 24 au 25 août pour le prix de 289$. Premièrement, il n’y a AUCUN accueil à cet hôtel, c’est une arrivée indépendante. Ils vous envoi parmis les plusieurs courriels de confirmation, un courriel avec le numéro de chambre + le code de la porte. Impossible de parler à quelqu’un si vous avez un problème! On vous envoi un message texte afin de vous « identifier » et il vous demande de payer une protection de 55$ Us pour vos biens dans la chambre. NE LE PRENEZ PAS, c’est une arnaque. * n’allez simplement pas à ce motel* En rentrant dans ma chambre 5, l’odeur était parsemée de moissisure, ammoniaque et febreeze pour essayer de camoufler. 2 grosses fourmies marchaient sur le mur collé au lit. Une grosse bulle d’eau faisait lever la peiture et il y avait des coulisses. L’air climatisée était remplie de moisissure. La salle de bain n’était pas propre il y avait des poils ainsi que de la moisissure à même le sol de la douche. Le rideau de douche aussi était plein de moisissure. Nous avons décidé de quitter la chambre et de ne pas y dormir. Nous sommes resté moins d’une heure pour réfléchir et nous avions déjà des symptômes reliés à la moisissure. Bref, payez un peu plus cher pour avoir mieux car jamais je n’aurai dormi ici.

The owners were nice and accommodating. Rooms were clean! Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. Place could certainly use some updating starting the with new mattresses. But for 80 bucks I can't complain too much. Would stay again

I see alot of people are leaving negative reviews. I don't understand why. This isn't a 5 star hotel with that being said we loved the place. The owner was extremely nice and welcoming. Would definitely stay there again. Close to the beach and quiet. Yes the place is older but everything was clean in our room. Remember everyone you get what you pay for. Our cost was $70 dollars for the night. If you want to he waited on hand and foot then go and book your 5 star because this isn't the place for you. If you want to stay somewhere quiet and and close to the beach for 1 or 2 nights this is the place.

I booked through Expedia and then the owner did not honor the price I booked at. He then told me I could cancel but wouldn't refund all of my money. He threatened me..."do not contact me again or you won't get your money....I promise". I still didn't get my money. ||The decor is quite nice if you can look past the filth and rudeness of owner

The rooms are ok, you get what you pay for. The service could use some improvements. I booked the rooms online and the day before arriving I called to confirm my reservation and the owner told me that the cost will be more than what I booked for online. The owner said if I didn’t want the reservation I could cancel for a full refund. I canceled reservation and the owner only gave a partial refund keeping $50.00. All I will say is that is pretty poor customer service. Location wise it is a 10 minute walk to the beach,

No heater, coffee was terrible so old . Beds were horrible. Towels in the bathroom I'd use on my dogs. Blinds were broken. Kitchenette a mess. Toilet would not flush(waiting for outgoing tide) . Owners need to put some money into this place. Randy was very nice. I would not recommend this place. Thank God no bedbugs

The Sandcastle Inn & Motel|||We booked our stay at the Sandcastle Inn & Motel in October and paid for 2 nights, checking in on 10/1 and checking out on 10/3.|||The afternoon on which we arrived we parked in the only available spot in the parking lot.|||Attached to a chain link fence was a sign directing us to the office. I opened the gate and followed the path to a door that I thought was the office. I cautiously opened the door and entered a room that reeked of stale cigarettes and an ashtray filled to overflowing with cigarette butts.|||On a cluttered desk were what appeared to be reservations. I called out a greeting and soon Randy emerged from another room.|||After checking in Randy moved his car, opening a parking place in front of our room.|||As we settled in, we couldn’t help but notice that the room was filthy. Some of the furniture was wicker and we noticed human hair protruding from the wicker. We spent the night, but first thing in the morning on 10/2, well before checkout time, we packed and left.|||We left the key on the counter because there was no one in the office. On our way to another hotel, we called twice and left messages, alerting Randy to the fact that we left because of the condition of the room and had requested a refund for one night.|||Returning home from our trip we called Randy to again ask for a refund.|||He maintained that he did not have time to prepare the room for other guests, but that he would ask his wife for advice and return the call. He never did.|||We’re giving it one star because the room was filthy.|||

Loved the seashore theme of the room and the bright colorful quilt on the bed. Basic room was clean and set up in a way as to maximize space and promote relaxation. Location provided convenient access to main travel routes through town and was located within moderate walking distance to the waterfront - all of which worked well for us. Room had a mild smoking odor and needs a ceiling repair in the bathroom. Some traffic noise was also discernible. Our host was congenial, helpful and responsive. Overall, the room met our need for a basic, convenient, and clean place to stay, and was relatively affordable for the locale and time of year.
