As a former Condo Owner in Port Aransas, I know what makes a great rental and Sandcastle is indeed great. I can’t imagine that that any short term rental facility has come back from Harvey better than Sandcastle. It’s truly a Resort. |We were owners at another complex for 40+ years and this was our first time as renters. Wife and I stayed all of January in Condo 533, a 1 BR with|Great layout, monster screen TV, King Bed, great kitchen and great view. Maybe the best part is a very comfortable and nap-able Sectional sofa. (A Big plus). |The view of the beach is outstanding. |The other pluses: The hot tubs|Stayed open in the winter; The Sandcastle staff was outstanding and the maintenance crew were doing something everyday to make it even better (hard workers). Highly recommend Sandcastle and 533 if you’re needing a 1BR.
Absolutely amazing accommodations. I would highly recommend Sandcastle. We had a one bedroom condo with an amazing view of the pool and the gulf. It was extremely clean and well appointed. There were his and her closets in the bedroom. The kitchen was fully stocked with plates and cups, coffee mugs, flatware, pots and pans, toaster, blender, and many other kitchen essentials. Our unit had a washer and dryer as well. They start you off with one roll of paper towels and some kitchen towels. They give you a fresh unopened, kitchen sponge, dishwashing soap, and dishwasher tablets. If we ran out of something, we just ask at the front desk, and they happily replenished. If you’re gonna wash clothes you will need to bring your own laundry soap. The staff and everyone we talk to that worked there was very, very friendly. All the restaurants and shops are close by. Everything is within a five minute drive time. We did not get a golf cart but purchased a $12 beach pass because you can drive right up on the beach. We will be back 😄
We usually stay at hotels, but we went with two other couples who picked this condo. We were so glad that there was a front desk 24/7 and the two women were nice. We stayed in Room 235, 1 bdrm. We had a nice balcony view of pool and can see a bit of the ocean. The bed was hard and pillows hurt our necks, but other than that we liked the room. You have to throw out the trash at end of stay and clean any dishes used. The pool was pretty warm, not refreshing. Would be nice if they had a chiller. ||We had filled out information needed to reserve the room a few weeks prior our stay. A week before, my husband missed their call and received a rude voicemail. The lady said we had not filled out some forms and if we didn't, they would cancel our reservation. My husband said "what forms, we already filled out stuff". He got upset, this is why we like hotels better. He was ready to call them back when he received an email asking for more information. The email came AFTER the call, so why get mad at us. So this is why I'm giving 4 stars.
This is the third time in the last year we have stayed at this property and the 2nd time in Unit #409. Most recent trip was 10 days in December, 2022. During that trip, I would have rated this room and property 4 out of 5 stars. Unfortunately, this last trip would be rated 1 out of 5 and only because of the beautiful ocean view. We were denied access to the washer/dryer in the unit and were told we could lose our deposit if we moved units. They had already charged our credit card so we decided to continue our trip. Shower was moldy, shower tracks disgusting, shelves in kitchen looked as if they had not been dusted since December, our feet were black after one day of walking on the floors and the human hair balls on the carpet totally unacceptable. During check out process, I shared the photos with the front desk after being told the manager was unavailable. Upon our return home, I emailed the property with attached photos and requested a refund of our cleaning fee. After multiple follow-up emails and phone calls, I was told by the front desk via the manager that no refund would be processed. Unless some major changes are made, we will never stay here again.
I've been coming to sandcastle for a while. They were reasonably priced, have a decent pool, and direct access to the beach. The hurricane and then closing due to damage put a stop to that. I was happy to hear they finally remodeled and reopened. Of course, with the pandemic, we still stayed away but finally returned in 2023! The website needs to be updated. You still have to check in in person in the lobby. Get your key. The keys stopped working prior to our last day. Luckily, we always had a person available inside to open the door. The pool is nice, but the fountain needs an upgrade, and the pool walls need to be cleaned. There is a bit of black mold. There is nothing to give it less than 5 stars for the price.
Good location; right on the beach. The room was nice; we could hear the people in the room next door. Great AC! Far accommodation; expected a bit more for the price. The elevators were not working properly; we either had to walk to another elevator and hope it worked or take the stairs (our room was on the 4th floor). My daughter and I stayed for 5 days. There were only 2 towels in the room, and it took a day to get more. There were only 2 filters for the coffee pot and it wasn't even the right kind. No coffee or fixings available in the room.
Do not stay here. We are currently here in room 119. The bed is extremely uncomfortable. It is so hard. It literally feels like I am sleeping on top of a wooden picnic table. It is running my vacation because I have to toss and turn all night and I’m so sleepy during the day! You would think for our $1000 we are paying, they could afford to get a foam mattress topper for this bed. Another issue is the towel situation. For our FIVE night stay we were given one bath towel and one hand towel per person. No wash cloths. When I went to the front desk to get a few more towels for our FIVE night stay. I was told no. I have to bring my one dirty towel down to the front desk each day for them to replace it. Again, for $1000 I do not understand why we cannot be trusted with more than one towel per night. I feel like I am a child at school camp. Totally ridiculous! The housekeeper did not do a good job cleaning after the people who stayed before us. There were someone else’s clothes in the dresser, crumbs on the floor, the pillowcases were on inside out, and there was a dead roach on the floor in the bathroom. Lastly, there are other issues… The balcony sliding door does not lock, there are no luggage stands in this room - so there is nowhere to put your suitcase except on the floor, which is ridiculous. Having a bad experience, do not choose the Sandcastle!
Absolutely magical! Right off the beach, has a boardwalk from the condos straight to the beach. The pool is huge, super clean and beautiful. The employees were super nice and our room had an incredible view with beautiful indoor accommodations.

Mom and I go two to three times a year. The pool is heated and fantastic. All of the staff are wonderful. Every condos we have stayed in are well kept and fully equipped. The views are gorgeous. It is my favorite place to go!!
Enjoyed seeing the sunrise! Picturesque. People were fishing from the beach. Saw that they caught catfish, perch, and a small shark (which was returned to the ocean). The water was perfect, not extremely cold. Not warm. Walked the beach. Admire Port
We enjoyed seeing friends play at the Third Coast Theater. Two different bands, Friday & Saturday, both were great shows. The venue is 150 seats, it is a snug fit. The sound in the theater is very good. It is a "Listening Room" not a place to dan

Gotta hand it to Coach's... darn good breakfast! We stopped in about noon on a Sunday, not breakfast time for sure, but Coach's pounds out breakfast until 2:00pm everyday! It was great! Service awesome (Thanks Rokki!), the foo was delicious, and e
Nice clean room close to the beach. The heated pool at 90 degrees was a plus point for me and my kids when the weather was cold outside. There is a nice library near the lobby as well. Breakfast here is above average as some other reviewers wrote.
Stayed here for two weeks in our fifth wheel trailer. We loved this place. The staff is so very friendly. It is just a short walk and you are on the beach. They have activities. My wife attended a water color paint class. She enjoyed it very much. Th
