I've gone to this restaurant about 2-3 times a year for at least 15 years now. I don't know what happened, but the last two visits were so poor that they were my last. First, the restaurant has a nice rustic decor, but the chairs/benches are so uncomfortable. No cushioning, flat (not contoured) wood or metal. Second, there's no salt/pepper on the tables (you have to ask for them), and no bread is provided while you wait for your meal to come (not even offered). The eggplant parmigiana dinner comes with bread, but if you ask for a side of spaghetti instead of bread, they tell you they don't do "sides", they can only add a full order of spaghetti if wanted. (Seriously? They can't halve the full order and just charge 1/2 for it?) They changed their menu and now have absolutely nothing on it that's vegan, so I ordered a plate of spaghetti with plain tomato sauce. The amount of spaghetti I got was about the amount you'd get in a small can of Spaghetti-O's, and the sauce tasted like that's where it came from. When we got the electronic bill, I selected 20% for the tip (I didn't want to penalize the server, as I didn't feel any of the problems were her fault), but when they gave me the itemized print-out of the receipt, I noticed they applied the 20% to the entire amount, including the tax. Why would I tip the tax? The entire experience was the most disappointing I've had in a restaurant, especially a restaurant I used to love.
Service and food are always on point here. No matter what you get it's consistent every time. Rebecca took care of us today and was very pleasant and attentive and as always Pizza was amazing.
12/10/22 First time there. Must say that everything we ordered was excellent. Only regret is that I forgot to take pics of the food except for desert. (Waffle cone cheesecake)that Jill recommended which was on the money and a must try. *Update 12/21/22 got pics this time. Chicken parmigiana, fried calamari, fire roasted meatballs in mushroom marinara, margherita pizza, margherita pizza with sausage and pepperoni. Washed down with a fig martini and a amazing kamikaze made fist time by Shannon. Had the tiramisu for dessert and it was made to perfection with the espresso soaked bottom and all. Gotta say that this place is a gem and top notch service and ingredients.
I am reviewing a pizza that is supposed to be flat, crispy and good It was no where near that… … It was doughy, floppy , and the sauce which no one can screw up, was less than tasty and tasted old. The store had 1 table with 2 people and no one else in the store . ( I brought my service dog but was asked to wait outside while they were preparing the pizza) I also ordered (2) meatball appetisers and the meatballs were awful…. My suggestion is to cook, the (1) person pizza, to a crisp, and they did not do that. It was like eating dough with a sauce that was thrown on “afterwards” The waitress could not have been nicer and I complimented her how beautiful she was ………. Tell the owner or the cooks that if they want more business ….. try cooking brick oven pizza that’s almost burnt crisp
First time here and we loved loved loved the pizza. Just wow! So tasty, so fresh. I want another one just writing this review. They are more of a personal pie size but we were four people and wound up sharing two different pies. We even liked our appetizer salads. Staff was also super accommodating and friendly. Thank you San Marzanos!
I visited from Colorado and i had to try some authentic New York pizza. This was the best pizza i’ve ever had. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. The bar has really nice espresso martinis, definitely recommend!
A staple in merrick. The pizza is incredible ,and the staff makes this place great. The owner did such a great job many years ago creating such a great system That regardless of who is working you , always have a seamless experience. I highly recommend this place to all.
I ordered 2 pizzas to be delivered. Arrived one hour later, cold. The pizza, even cold, was delicious. I can imagine if hot. The quality was obvious first rate. The problem: they don't deliver themselves. They use a delivery service. I called after about 45 minutes, and the woman who answered the phone said there is nothing they could do about how long it took. This is bad. So. Pizza is good. Delivery bad. Accountability is bad.

If you're on the lookout for the best low-key sushi spot Long Island has to offer, look no further. This hidden gem exceeded my expectations with its unassuming charm and exceptional sushi. The laid-back atmosphere complements the outstanding quality
Service was a little slow at first but the food made up for it. We got the gnocchi to start and it was delicious. Also had chefs special carne asada tacos and the salmon which was good. Drinks were also great! We enjoyed 2 margarita flights and swapp
We have been holding on to a gift certificate for Guy Anthonyâs Italian Bistro for several years and finally decided to go. We were so impressed and decided it would now be our âgo-toâ place. There were three chefs (with head coverings) in a wi
Ordered takeout and it was delicious burritos. FYI if you order takeout thru the website instead of thru Postmates, GrubHub or Doorcash it's about $3 cheaper per burrito (in out case). Not sure on the other items.
