Don’t bother!!! Drive to Haverstraw. I ordered Mofongo and chicken stew. I get home open it there chicken and no stew at all. Maybe I can look pass it right? Wrong !! The mofongo is dry and stale so there’s no hope at all. Overpriced stale and dry with no caldo. Must be why it was empty in there ! SMH

The food is discustinggg. Ordered rice had no taste shoulder pork so gross. Alcapurias I had no idea what that was. So sad they use the name San Juan to give u an impression of Puerto Rican food. I am not sure but that was not Puertorican food.

Food here is delicious. Like it really is. Not sure how service is usually here because it's the first visit but today it was just one lady and what seemed her young daughter helping her out on the floor. We did arrive as a group of 5. And 2 hours before closing. Another table arrived about 10mins after us and they were weighed on 1st. That's why the 4 stars and not 5. So it was slightly slow but a round of applause for the lady she was taking walk-in orders, phone orders, and tables all on her own. I will definitely return. Like I said EVERY THING ORDERED WAS DELICIOUS..

Ok, this is absolutely NOT Puerto Rican food. On their menu, they offer sopa de mondongo, and the front person admited they don't carry it because they don't know how to make it. The food I did order made me sick, with no flavor, no hint of Puerto Rico, and its spices/flavors. I had to toss it out, and sowith waste my $50. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. To address the owner's reply: Yes, I'm absolutely sure about the location.

I read the reviews before coming here and they were mainly positive with some mixed but I took a chance. If you’re going to have a restaurant named “San Juan” it has to be good and close as to as authentic as possible. Well I went with one of my friends whom native island is San Juan and they were not disappointed. They ordered the pork chop and I had (presented in the photo) is the salmon with coconut sauce! Omg it was so good! It was a thick salmon and the sauce did not disappoint. The rice and beans were on point too. The avocado salad and tostones (large) was soooo delicious! I definitely enjoy my time here. This place does not have any drinks if you plan to have a night out drinking with friends. Luckily, we weren’t planning on that. Nice quaint spot, I’d most likely visit again!

Coming from Brooklyn/Queens where there’s a lot of Spanish restaurants I give this restaurant a 5 star +. I would say I was surprised because it didn’t look like a popular restaurant I barely saw people inside but I took a chance and I won. The food was amazing very very authentic. Not every Spanish restaurant cooks authentic. The seasoning and the cooking of the food was just right. Everyone asked where did you get the food they loved it. Thank you for making my party a hit and allow me to enjoy the party without cooking.

Zero stars is what this place deserves. Not authentic, not good, not clean, not even close to resembling ANYTHING like Puerto Rican food. The "pastel" looked like dog food. Please do not come here if you want Puerto Rican food.
