San Juan Rapids - Ecological park in Fair Oaks - American River Trail, #1, USA

Class 2 at most rapids always put your kids in a life jacket. There are hidden dangers and severe undertows and Eddie's. Whole trees from flooding lying under water line. Now to the good things about this river. I inner tube 15 times a year here. Miles of bike trails and river. Some of the best tax payers money spent here. Deer ,coyote , eagles and hawks. Please no glass bottles and take more trash with you than you came with.

Biggest Rapid on the lower American River. Great place to watch people flip their inner tubes. Hit it hard! Also a nice spot to go fishing

When navigating (tubing or rafting) the Sunrise portion of the American river, on a hot summertime weekend, you will normally see many hanging out on the clay banks. It's at this time you will need to move to the right (east or away from the banks) or not. If not, you will get caught in what I call the washing machine where the current will keep bringing you back - I think it's fun but eventually you have move on because the San Juan Rapids are calling. Ah the Rapids. A place of joy. The best rapid is a little left of center.

Best part of floating down the American River! (Keep your kayak straight, or you'll flip it... Still fun when that happens!)

This is a beautiful area to visit the river. The access is pretty far from parking unless you cut through the school which is difficult to do. Definitely a must visit place if your either visiting or a local. Can be very busy on weekends with people partying and drinking, but very secluded on weekdays.

San Juan rapids are running pretty low today. There are fish fry and tadpoles in the shallows and puddles on the clay banks.

It was time well spent, nature at it's finest. Enjoyed the trail site seeing and capture a lonesome coyote walk right by my pup and I.
