Rooms are simple, not great... TV... Clean... Very insistent manager, but considering the party of town I can't say I blame her... Only thing I would've liked was an additional towel and at least a bar of soap... There wasn't any... No shampoo, nothing. Still going to give it 5 stars though... At 100 dollars you should really try to get some better amenities though. And be less rude... But I respect the fact that you are still in business after all these years and it's far superior to the hygiene of the other cheeper motels in the area...

Room prices and room options are incorrect online. Asked for a double queen and we got a double twin. Decided to leave and upon refund they kept money for a 'service fee'. Seems like a scam and a good spot to have your car broken into. Would give negative stars if I could.

This was by far the worst Motel I've ever had to stay in Fresno. Our first night there there was no water. After a week there we had no electricity .Our final week there was a possum nest in our backyard . Our last day there the fire alarm went off and triggered the sprinkler to go off in our sleeping area. When the fire Marshall came out and explained to them what had happened they kicked us out. It wasn't smoke that set it of it was a sensitive sensor. Even after the stuff told management that it wasn't our fault they still wanted to kick us out. Our room was flooded and all our personal belongings were damaged. When I ask for compensation and for their insurance information the operations manager Surdeep refused. Worst place ever. Worst place in Fresno to rent a room.Never ever again. Watch out for this place.

Looking to get away for a few days my boyfriend and I decided to stay at the San Joaquin inn merced.we chose this hotel because it looked clean and quaint .. Rooms very affordable.. So we get checked in .. Once we got in the room we were appalled it was filthy dirty no dirty linens dirty towels mold growing inside the refrigerator awful smell lingered about the room the sheets on the bed had been slept in already from previous guest leaving behind hair on pillows .. Used soap and shampoo was left inside the shower with a green liquid on the floor of shower . towels had blood on them very stained .. No carrence for the guests at all .. Housekeeper very rude and invasive for she beats on the door 2 hours before checkout demanding the key and sheets .. No professionalism what so ever at this establishment

I always enjoy this hotel. One of the best hotels in Merced, CA! You should try it for yourself. Lovely staff and amazing rooms. I was able to make lots of good memories. Most of the time there is no deposit for this location. Just follow all prompts from staff and follow all rules. There is not a lot of rules it's just important to the family owned business that everything is respected and no extra drama and/ or no damages please. Fun hotel and pricing is very resonable. Can't wait to come back! -Jamie Reese

Not a bad hotel. The owners or hosts were a super nice Indian couple and honestly the accommodations were pretty nice for the price we paid. Overall nice and clean and a good stopover place in case you need to get to SFO by Amtrak.

It rained while I was there. Couldn't seem to get the room to warm up. I guess the heater doesn't go up a whole lot. I think they wash their own towels rather having a professional laundry business do it for them because their towels were heavily stained. Food from the previous visitors left food in the microwave and crumbs were on the table AND inside the drawers. Found a bottle cap with my foot. Woke up in the morning still raining and I suspect there is a leak in the ceiling or wall because the closet was heavily soaked with water.

This is a much older property which is very well maintained for its age. Just passing through Merced and wanting something cheap, I picked the San Joaquin. ||||Most of the cut rate motels in Merced are in sketchier parts of town. The railroad tracks parallel 16th where this one is found. I was only awakened once during the night by a passing train, most go through during the day. ||||The manager (owner) did all he could to accommodate my requests. Though the bed was very firm and I thought it would be a problem, it was not. I slept fine. The rooms are small. It does seem that there are some who live in a few of the rooms. The parking lot is very tight, impossible to turn around if full.
