Sam's Crystal River Seafood of Macclenny - Seafood restaurant in Macclenny - 1152 S 6th St, USA

So I came here for the first time during my first overnight stay and visit to Tallahassee, FL. It was a nice warm day, Nov. 1st, 2023. I ordered the cup of clam chowder. The CA, FO, n FA2 n my good friend ordered corn nuggets, calamari fries, or fried clams (honestly don't remember which), stuffed mushrooms, and crab cakes. I then ordered the seafood boil dish "the low country boil" on the menu. Mmm, one of the best seasoned fresh steamed meaty crablegs I've ever tasted to date. Definitely look forward to another visit here soon. All the food was delicious. The service was okay. However, there was always someone cleaning and sanitizing the tables and chairs. The decor is very Florida, I was told. It would be nice to see some updates done to this restaurant, but w/ out straying from the pre-existing charm it already possesses.

We had planned on a different restaurant which was closed and saw a full parking lot here. What a jewel! Nice family restaurant with excellent food. The shrimp scampi was delicious along with fried okra and a large green salad. They serve crackers with a fish and shrimp spread when you first arrive. 😋 Asked for a second serving of this; such great flavor. A friend got clam chowder and a shrimp with scallops dish. The hush puppies were very good. Key lime pie and carrot cake was boxed up to enjoy later in our hotel room. Wonderful dining experience which I am looking forward to repeating on another visit. Kid friendly type of place.

It's been seven years since I came here the first time and the food and service was just as great as I remember. I came pretty close to closing time on a Sunday and they were gracious enough to let me dine in. For us truck drivers the large parking lot out front is nice. Try the Gator tail, really good.

My wife and I have been coming to Crystal River Seafood more often for lunch. Food is always tastes good, but can be a bit expensive depending on what you get. We usually share the fried trio lunch combo. This comes with two sides, which we each choose one. The meal is filling and we still have enough to take home. Most of the time, service is excellent. Sometimes you will wait longer for the waitress to come and take your food order. All in all, we enjoy the food and the service here.

Strongly recommend the clam chowder. I'd say more of a clam soup than chowder but amazing none the less. They make it from scratch. I've had the bisque too, not nearly as good due to it being shipped in. Came back a year later and had the low country broil. Very good food. Wife had the ribeye.

We stopped by for lunch and the food was fresh and hot. The waitresses working were excellent and friendly. Its definitely worth your time to eat there.

My husband and I stopped here for an early lunch. Everything was great! As we were leaving ( It was just my 2nd day on crutches after fracturing my ankle). I fell soon after getting up from our table. Several people came over to help my husband and I out the door. I don't remember faces or what anyone looked like, but thank you!!
