Was skeptical at trying but read the last two reviews and this place without a doubt is the best Afghan place in the whole United States. All our food was fresh the owners are truly kind, friendliest. Thank you for such an amazing food and service. Will definitely visit again when we come NewYork in Future.

I drive by this place every day and finally decided to stop in. To say I'm happy I did is an understatement. Between the great food, the amazing staff, and the family like atmosphere I was so glad I chose to eat here. I ordered the bolani to start. It was cooked perfect and had great flavor. Sort of a creamy flavorful potato wedged in a flaky crust. For the main, I ordered the lamb kabob and the chicken shish kabob plated. They both came with a very fresh salad to start. When the dishes came out I was absolutely amazed at the portions. The value for what you get is unbeatable. More importantly, the taste. The lamb practically melded in my mouth and had so much flavor. The chicken had just the right amount of char and was extra juicy. If you're in the area and you want some great kabob served by great people, then come on in. And if you're not in the area, drive by or take the LIRR, it's only a few blocks away.

Very delicious food & excellent service. I normally don’t write reviews but I feel like they’ve earned one. Compared to most afghan restaurants that I’ve dined in; this restaurant gives large portion sizes … down to the salad and their food is very authentic. I really enjoyed the gandana bolani. It was as if my own mother made it. The lady/ owner was also very sweet and served us fast. Definitely worth trying !

The combination platter was definitely worth the money. The meat was very flavorful especially the lamb chops was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this place, the food was delicious and very unique from other afghan food.

My family and I love this place. The food is just amazing! The tikka kababs are so juicy and tender. The fresh warm bread is so good! The owner promised us free bolani next time so you know we’re going back 😂😂. Thank you!

After reading reviews on Google, went their to get food. It's small place in the plaza on Woodbury road. Met with owner behind the counter, and he happily took my order and told me to wait for 15 minutes. I ordered lamb tikka, chicken tikka and chicken tikka and kofta platter. They ran out of brown rice and asked me if i like white rice. I said yes and he happily upgraded to kabuly plaow. I requested for extra white, green and red sauce, he gave me extra Food was delicious . We liked the food. Definitely go back again.

Celebrated out daughter's birthday at Samovar and had a wonderful experience. Place is nice, food is really yummy 😋 loved the chicken Mantu. The separate hall is a very good option for small get together, parties. The Owner, staff all are very good and humble. highly recommended 👌.
