Quaint resort nestled in the woods, steps away on Gull Lake, Well maintained cabins, excellent customer service. Activities; yard games, paddle boat, canoe, kayaks. Conveniently located in Nisswa off 371. Beautiful sunsets. |Pontoon & boat rentals available (Boats & Beyond rental) and others in area, pick up & drop off convenient. Access to Gull & surrounding lakes were easy to get around. Dropped line in water for some fishing, stopped for excellent lunch @ Bar Harbor, docked pontoon. |Wonderful, relaxing fun filled week. |Thanks to Sue & her staff!

Visited here in July for 1 week and split Cabin 8 with my folks. It is not on the lake but the fishing off our dock was great. The business seems to be run in a very relaxed way so when I booked the cabin I was told a certain price and asked to send deposit check. There was no follow up after my check was cashed to confirm receipt or my reservation and in fact I had to call multiple times to finally receive the confirmation 3 months later. After we left and I was divvying up the bill, I noticed it was different than what we discussed so I asked about it by email. I assumed I would get a quick response since it wasn't a complicated question. This was not the case and after a couple of emails I decided to call because based on the angry responses, I assumed there was some miscommunication happening. I called and still didn't get anywhere and got hung up on. I caution anyone considering staying here to carefully read your bill because clearly they do not want to deal with questions after the fact. The most ridiculous part is that I wasn't even asking for a discount, I just wanted to fairly split up the bill with my parents. Disappointing end to our vacation.

A friend and I stayed here just for a weekend and would stay again. ||The property itself is a big draw. It's on a relatively quiet cove on Gull Lake so you're away from the major boat traffic and the winds that can overtake the main part of Gull. The land is flat, which makes an easy walk to the lake or the dock. Absolutely perfect sunset views!||We stayed in Cabin 1 which is actually a trailer with an attached screen porch. It was tiny but enough space for 2. All the little details really make it special though. There is a chalkboard greeting you by name. A couple of fresh cookies in a basket on the table. A personal greeting on the "mailbox" that contains info about the area. A little "fireside chat" box with conversation starters. A few little candies in the bedroom as a nighttime snack. We just kept discovering these little things that show the owners really care about making it a special experience for you. ||Kayaks are free to take out which was great. Peaceful lake to explore, plus some channels nearby where you will see wildlife. ||Evening cocktails and sunset viewing from one of the wooden swings was a perfect way to end the day.||There isn't much of a beach so I don't think I'd bring small children here. ||It's great for adults who want to relax in a more traditional resort vs mega resort.

My husband and I had a great two weeks at Samara Point Resort, even though we had numerous rainy days and no fish. We loved our little two bedroom, one bath, "great room" (well equipped kitchen, dining table, couch, rockers, wood burning fireplace, and small tv) cabin. Morning coffee in the screened in porch overlooking the lake was perfect. Ten flat easy steps to the dock, and you're ready to fish! Sue, Laura, Keith, Tim and Bud were all great. Always available to help for any reason, or just to chat a bit about how things were going. Evening cocktails sitting in the wooden swing by the water, wonderful. The beach area had badminton, and a shed with neatly organized yard games. The cabins had numerous games for rainy days or evenings. We felt at home, the moment we entered the cabin. We rented one of the aluminum boats with motors and enjoyed motoring around the known fishing spots. We played golf twice at nearby courses, and enjoyed grocery shopping at Shaffers (looking forward to Aunt Bette's Pies next visit) Nothing flashy like most large resorts, but comfortable, small, friendly and peaceful. Twenty miles from Costco, Kohls, Cub Grocery, etc. Bait shops nearby. We are looking forward to our visit next year! And, hopeful the walleye are hungry!

What a peaceful and restful resort! It only has a few cabins and each faces the lake and is only a few feet from shore. Each cabin had a nice screened in porch with a couch which was so relaxing watching the sunset each day. We took the kayaks into the channels close to there and saw loons, deer, ducklings, geese, birds, and lots of fish. The water is clear, so you see schools of fish. Some kids were fishing right off the dock. The staff was wonderful. Matt seemed to anticipate our needs and went way above and beyond expectations! We were even greeted with original art work welcoming us! The cabins we small and old, but clean and nicely decorated and stocked. The only negative was the really small bathroom. We can't wait to go back! If you like nature and quiet, this is a great choice!

Today is our last day here at Samara Point. This is our second visit and it has been every bit as good as the first one. The place is fantastic, clean comfortable cabins with views and sunsets to die for.||I can't speak highly enough of Laura, Sue and Keith for their friendliness and obvious want to make our visit a very special one. We managed to play several rounds of golf at some of the excellent local courses. Did a bit of boating across the lake and in the nearby scenic channels which was a lot of fun.||We enjoyed eating out at the many nearby restaurants with "Cowboys" taking first prize in our estimation, a comfortable bar serving great food.||All in all a brilliant week - Thank you Samara Point see you next time.

From the moment we arrived at Samara Point Resort, we felt like we were home. Sue & Laura welcomed us for our first time visit as we arrived at the office, which is a beautiful cabin nestled in the woods. They spoke to my wife & I as if we were long time friends, offering suggestions on how to enjoy our stay, where to see fireworks, places to eat, information on the fishing boat we would be getting with our stay -- it was a great start that just got better.||||We drove down the hill a few hundred feet to our lakefront cabin. Entering the screened-in porch, we saw a cute sign welcoming us to Samara Point - customized with our names. As we stepped through the door to the cabin, we found a very clean living room & kitchen - and another personal welcome with a bottle of wine & fresh baked cookies. These little touches are the things missing at the bigger resorts and we could not have felt happier. And it kept getting better.||||As the sun went down on our first night -- and what a beautiful sunset view we had from our porch -- we were treated to an amazing light show of a distant thunderstorm. We retired to one of the 2 bedrooms and found a very comfortable bed with plenty of warm comforters. As it was a very warm day, we did not need the extra bedding, but we did take advantage of the window-mounted AC and a large box fan - all supplied in the cabin. Despite the heat outside, this cabin stayed ultra-cool. And it kept getting better.||||Lakefront might not be a good enough description for this cabin. The water was literally a few feet from our front door. Fishing from the dock provided some fun times catching sunfish & perch -- mostly little ones, but keep in mind this was July & the water was warm. Keith brought us our boat Tuesday morning - and you won't meet a nicer person who knows so much about the area. We had a number of great chats with Keith during our stay - and whether it was first thing in the morning, or last thing at the end of the day, Keith treated you as an important guest and made time for our questions. And it kept getting better.||||Out on the lake - and it's a big lake - we used the map provided to try out some "honey holes". And we were not disappointed. Over the course of our stay we caught 8 different varieties of fish. As we are strictly catch & release folks, we did not have to ask Keith for help cleaning the fish - but that was an offer that was made, and I saw Keith do this for another family. And it kept getting better.||||We had another couple join us for 2 nights mid-stay. It is important to note the resort requires this to be pre-arranged with the office. They are quite serious about keeping the resort quiet and do not allow un-registered guests. This is a great policy and assures an enjoyable stay for all. Our friends really enjoyed the cabin & the lake. On the night of the 4th of July, we sat in the porch watching fireworks all around the lake. There was even a great show put on by the property right next store! And it kept getting better.||||We had such a great time at Samara Point. I have stayed at 5 star resorts & luxury hotels - but this beats them all. I was able to truly unwind and could feel the stress of a busy life fade away while we relaxed amidst the trees, listening to the loons, the rustling leaves & the waves gently lapping at the shore. We left after our 5 night stay, sad to leave, but well rested. Thank you to the Bombenger's for being such wonderful hosts!

This is the fifth time staying at this beautiful resort, and we’ll be back again next year. The cottages are spotless and well maintained and have everything you would need to cook a great meal (even the fish you may have caught) and a comfy place to relax. The view of the sunset is stunningly beautiful and the location is so peaceful. The owners are welcoming and gracious. Thank you for another great stay. See you next year.
