Saltgrass Steak House - Steak house in Mansfield - 1770 U.S. 287 Frontage Rd, USA

I’ve had a dissatisfying experience before, but it was fixed, quickly.This time, not so much. I ordered my steak, well. It was not. I was told my refund would be processed in 5-7 days, but in 7 days, nothing. I called and was told the manager is on vacation, and it would be 2-3 weeks. Still nothing… they keep trying to redo the order, but I’ve already had to buy something else, closer, for lunch that day. JUST SEND THE MONEY BACK.

Very nice and clean restaurant. Food was pretty good for the most part, my steak was perfect once I had them cook it a bit long with great taste. The shrimp were perfectly made. My husband wasn't so happy about his steak yet he also didn't ask them to cook it longer. Drinks were amazing and on point. I would go back.

The bartender.... I don't recall his name. Nerdy dude... I sat there for about 10min before I could even get his attention by waving at him. He got us our drinks. Then we asked to order our food when he brought our drinks. He then told us he couldn't take our order 😳 he wasn't even all that busy. My jaw dropped!!! My wife made a comment to one of the waitresses. We then had another young lady wait for us from behind. She got us more drinks, took our order and everything was pretty normal after that. He got $0 and she got a $20 for taking the initiative. You NEVER tell someone no when they asked to order. Service was great other than that guy. Steak was meh. I asked for medium rare. It came out rare but I can handle that. Didn't really wanna stay long, so I didn't make a fuss. I won't be back! I was just driving through.

We flew home to Texas to visit family and see baby sister get her masters. We had reservations and were seated once our reservation time came. The restaurant was very clean and was very accommodating to our group size of 15 that alone along with the excellent service from our server Duante was top self (5). Appetizers were ordered Tenderloin Bites and Queso Brisket, I was not expecting such flavor from the chimichurri sauce for the tenderloin bites 🤯(4). Our meal comes out I got the the Texas Tbone with loaded mash potatoes and fried shrimp. My wife got the ribs and shrimp combo with loaded mash potatoes. My plate, the steak was ok but everything else was just meah! The ribs my wife got were extremely dry and was overly seasoned. Overall meal (3.5). There is a lot of great steak to be had in Texas and a lot of culinary choice, I’m sorry but Salt Grass for me misses the mark. Final point tally (4)

Must have been an off night for them. I usually get much better service. Drinks were very late getting to the table. They ran out of our wine choice. The dirty martini was undrinkable. Side orders of sauce for the ribs and sides for the baked potato didn't come. Appetizer of tenderloin and mushrooms, not chewable because of grizzel. Very late getting our salads then immediately brought the entres. Timing of the meal was way off. Just not as good as usual.

I arrived today to buy and take food home for the family. I walked in and no one was at booth, so I waited. No one manned the booth so I went to the bar and I was ignored for ten minutes. I will not return to this location and maybe next time I'll go to the location on I-20 becuase they know how to treat their customers there. This is the second time I've had a bad experience at this location so maybe ownership should hire better managers.

Disappointed to be waiting 10 mins no waiter or nothing. We got sat down but never had anyone come and take any order. We just walked out, no one even noticed. I saw waiters in the kitchen talking. So sad. Was trying to take my husband out to a nice birthday lunch.

We had our Holiday Company Dinner there & the Staff couldn’t have been nicer! It was a very busy night & we had 14. They accommodated us so nicely at the last minute. Seated us early, checked on us repeatedly, can’t say enough good things about the excellent staff & management (that had to help us with our ridiculous ApplePay that we thought was taken care of prior). My low score is strictly for the food not the prices which were reasonable or Service. *Salads were fresh & a nice size. *The Brown Bread was delivered fast & warm but was flavorless & dry. Everyone raved about the butter though! Very nice & creamy. *The fried pickle appetizer was great. Hot & fun to try! *Our Steaks were just ok. My Filet, ordered Med Rare was a weird mix of well done on the outer 3/4 & med Rare in the small middle. It tasted like dry Roast Beef. That was a surprise. The other steaks were just given an ok. Nothing really flavorful but not bad either. Those that ordered the Fish relayed it was ok, not very flavorful either. *Huge Baked Potatoes that were great. Mushrooms were good. The Cheesecakes & Carrot Cake were all fantastic! Huge portions that we all took home & that was what was raved about. I didn’t have high expectations but I thought it would be a level above Texas Roadhouse but I was wrong. Didn’t expect Mehan’s. Sad to say but Texas Roadhouse has them beat on all levels except ambiance. It’s a lovely designed Restaurant. beautiful fireplace in one room! I had hoped we had found a great go to place for the future. Had prior warnings from locals before I booked but went ahead with wanting to see for myself. Hope they can improve their Chefs or their Suppliers. No way should the quality be low here in Texas.
