This place is never too busy which is great because it’s hard to get a weekend table at any diner in Ballard. I’ve been here a couple times now, getting the scone frittata, which I really enjoyed and the hazelnut waffle and a drip which was amazing. I got that with fresh fruit on the side and the only complaint I have is the blueberries were clearly previously frozen which I’d rather have omitted tbh. They do 1 free drip refill per visit which is awesome and they’re cool with dogs 🐶 overall a chill vibe and the staff is friendly, would recommend.
The sandwich was really good, only problem was that the scone bread was really, really dense. It tasted fantastic though. The service was quick and friendly and I liked the interior. Interesting artwork and the hand-written menu was really fun.
We were in Ballard and were looking for a new coffee shop. We came out to try this place. It is spacious on the inside. There were a lot of options including lebanese coffee. We got a mocha and a drip. The mocha was very watery and lacked any taste of chocolate. The drip was the same and lacked punch. We left highly disappointed.
Loved it! Casual atmosphere, very friendly and SUPER helpful staff, and great food. I asked a few questions about ingredients (manakeesh, labdeh) before ordering, and the person behind the counter (owner?) told me all about them, and let me know that I could order a side of the labneh (a type of tart cheese) to go with my sandwich. Our group ordered a savory waffle, sweet waffle, breakfast biscuit sandwich (egg & cheese), and the manakeesh sandwich (with labneh on the side). All were excellent. Our favorite was the egg sandwich - the biscuit was especially tasty! Fast service. Highly recommended.
Salt and Sugar Cafe has amazing breakfast sandwiches and their coffee blends are delicious as well. It’s conveniently located next to a few bus stops as well! So, if you’re looking for a quick delicious meal in Ballard, try this place out!
I ordered their food and mocha few times through delivery app and I like them, especially their waffle. Their mocha was ok too.
Last weekend I got a chance to sit inside to enjoy their waffle (some flavors are not available in the app and I could finally try a new flavor).
I am always sensitive of cooking smell and I didn’t enjoy sitting in strong cooking smell place so I would take away or order from delivery app next time when I want their waffle.
Stumbled upon this place with my friends, and it was such a gem! We went on a weekend morning but there was plenty of space. The drinks were all very good but I was most impressed by the food! They have regular bfast options but they also have really good Lebanese options. I had ful medames with warm pita on the side and it was soooo good. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back!
The second time I have stopped into this delightful place. The breakfast sandwich is unusual and delicious. Lentil soup seasoned perfectly and delicious. Had a lovely chat with the owner (?) about Lebanese & US farms. I will go out of my way to stop in again.
