Sal's Tacos - Mexican restaurant in West Sacramento - 400 C St, USA

It was a solid time at taco place! The menu was a little pricey but hey that's alright. The tacos were a little smaller then I thought they would be but hey I'm not complaining. It was some solid food and some chips and salsa also came with which I didn't know was going to come with

I loved the food and service. I've never had tacos so filled up with meat before. I love that there was an actual option for spicy sauce than just Cholula. I haven't been back to the West Coast for a while, and the food hit the spot. There weren't many people at the time so my friends and I got our food fairly quickly. Our waiter was very attentive and quick to meet our needs. The restaurant was filled with decorations of Latin culture and it really added to the ambiance. I had 4 street tacos with rice & beans, 2 chicken and 2 carnitas. I wish the chicken was shredded but it was still delicious. Will come again when i come back into town.

I was in the area so I came here for dinner one weeknight. I had the crispy taco plate with carnitas, which was really delicious! The waiter was nice and brought my dog some water which he needed after a long walk…but we had to sit outside in the cold. The tacos were prepared well with an ample amount of meat - some of which I gave to my pup 🐶

This was my first time eating here and probably the last time eating here. My mom likes to eat here a lot and she suggested we go eat here. When I think Mexican food, I thing loaded with great flavors, and this place just wasn't that. I ordered the taco plate, and the chicken was bland and gamey. The portions were small. Anywhere I go, I'm never able to finish the plate no matter how hungry I am. I had to drown my tacos in salsa. My sister ordered street tacos, my son got chicken nachos, and mom got the enchilada plate. All I know is that the food fell short on the flavor and the portion size. As much as we spent and I was disappointed in the food.

Got a recommendation to eat at Sal's. The restaurant was pretty busy during lunch which was a good sign. There was one guy covering the restaurant and he was doing a great job. The Chile Verde caught my eye and the waiter said it was delicious. The portion was huge but it was so delicious I finished the whole thing. The pork was tenderly stewed. Had excellent flavor, just enough kick. The rice and beans were great. It was delicious.

Stopped by for a quick sit down lunch. The Colorado Chile Burrito was rather unimpressive looking, but was loaded with tender, flavorful pork on the inside (not to mention it was the size of a small cat). Nachos were well layered and the chips were sturdy enough to support the load. Carne asada was good as well, and came with a good selection of side dishes. Would definitely return to try some other menu items.

Ultimately... Check this place out! Great spot in a cozy neighborhood! Whether you are dining with family or relaxing with friends, the patio is perfect for evenings enjoying food and beer, and Margaritas! Very colorful interior and exterior with unique tile mosaics on walls and floors. The bright colored tables and surroundings make you feel like you are somewhere else. The service was very limited, but if you are not in a hurry you will be rewarded. The food is quite good. The chips and salsa are tasty, you get a red and Verde for the chips. The guacamole was very tasty but it came out with the dinner, a little late IMO. The beer was cold and kept coming, need I say more? The only critique I have besides slow service (by being understaffed) would be there was a true lack in spice and depth of flavor. (review based on new ownership only being open 3 weeks; 3/31/2022)

Go for the Birria Taco plate! It is delicious. Their rice taste good too! Check out the pictures I posted. UPDATE: The restroom needs a revamp.
