11/25/23: stopped in an early Saturday evening for what I hoped would be good food. It was not good. IT WAS EXCELLENT! There were three of us dining and we all thoroughly enjoyed everything that was ordered.
Our server, Robert, was on top of his game. He came to the table quickly, and kept returning time and time again, asking how we were, filling drinks, etc. He was friendly, polite, and did a fantastic job.
The restaurant was larger than it looked from the outside. The parking in its complex was a bit small, but I saw parking on the opposite side of their driveway. We arrived around 4:30 and the place was already doing a steady amount of business. When we left, there was quite a hefty amount of people waiting to be seated.
From appetizers to pizza to pasta, everything was hot and flavorful. Damn it, we should have gotten dessert. Ha! That's all right, we'll get it next time. If you have not tried Sal's, you're missing out on some mighty fine food.
We were pleasantly surprised when we popped in for a quick lunch on the outdoor patio. We had a half Grandma, half Grandpa pizza and it was definitely the savoury bite we were looking for. Enjoyed the outdoor patio, with easy access to your car when you're done. The service was chill but we were in a chill mood, so all good. Plenty of parking. Cheers!
First time in a while I went into a pizza parlor and it smells like pizza. The entire establishment is top notch! And the pizza... best I had here in Arizona. You need to stop by here if you're in the area, or come out and try it.
We stopped by on a recommendation but weren't blown away. We ordered mussles, meatballs, and a Caesar salad to split. The mussels are in a thick, gravy like sauce and the flavor just wasn't quite right. The meatballs are very cheesy. The salad was very standard. We didn't have time to order a pizza but everyone around us had a slice - so maybe just stick with that.
First time going, I needed to pass some time in Gilbert. Everything was just ok. The pizza had sauce that was visible, but I couldn't taste it. I like pizza that you can taste the sauce. The appetizers were nothing special either.
OK so this place was on DDD and so I thought let's try it! We heard the go to menu item is the Baked ziti pizza. We were here with some Friends so we ordered a medium with some meatballs. We also ordered a small house salad and a large Antipasti salad. So let's go with the bad news first! The pizza was marginal at best😒! It was way to carb heavy and not nearly enough sauce or meatballs. I think when I go back I'll order the Supreme pizza. Oh ya we also ordered the mango habanero wings and the cheese garlic Bread for appetizers and they were both good! On to the star of the show! The salad was awesome!! Lots of meat and all the wonderful toppings! So so good!! The atmosphere was fun and the service was amazing! Our waitress was so cool! Just soooooooooooooooooooooo disappointed in the pizza. The wait on a Friday night was 1 hour but they got us in within 35 min so that was nice. Al in all we enjoyed our meal and will definitely give it another try.
We're visiting from The Villages (Fl). Stopped by to try the pizza when we saw that you could buy a slice. I had a pepperoni, and my wife had plain. Very good thin crust and good tasting cheese. We'll be sure to stop by before we head back home.
It was pretty good, got a half pepperoni/half sausage pizza that my family member picked up here the other day for take out. It's probably better in person fresh instead of sitting in a box for 15 minutes on the way home. Very crunchy crust, a little thinner than I'd like, but a lot of people really like that.
The next time we do Sal's Pizza, we'll try it in-person and see if there's a difference - get a couple slices to try out, maybe try something different. Anyways, pretty good pizza, would recommend.
