Salish Inn - Hotel in Anacortes - 907 30th St, USA

For those of you who aren't familiar with Anacortes, the town isn't the prettiest and doesn't give you the safest vibe, so I went into this experience with low expectations. WOW! What a gorgeous place to stay! Interior was the best I'd seen in Washington State hotels, and I stayed in four star units in Seattle. The back of the building has beautiful water views! The room was SPOTLESS and we had many pillows to pick from, many comfortable options and bed was comfy too. We called for a last second reservation and received extremely kind and efficient service, even though it was late and The desk was closed. The desk wasn't open overnight, but they still answer the phone and the closure didn't affect us at all. Highly recommend!

Positive: The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was excellent. Negative: The common areas needed a good sweep and vacuum. There was an extra charge for checking in an hour early. It would have been helpful to know this ahead of time. The room was available but no desk clerk. We paid the $38 when someone came.

Take this review seriously. I have never written a negative one and I'm 70 years old. I have stayed at this hotel a few times and more importantly, have booked many people there. However, today the lady at the desk was the rudest person I have ever deal with, and I'm in show business! I booked the hotel. It was on a weekend, so the nice person, told me I could call back on Monday because I was asking for something better than the rack rate, based on my frequent stays there. On Monday, I called and the rude desk person wouldn't let me talk to the manager. Then told me I could book elsewhere and she cancelled my reservation. I told her to keep it. She finally did. I found a much cheaper rate on-line for the same hotel and so booked the room through them. I was about to call and cancel the first reservation, although I have four more days to do that. However, the rude lady called and took it upon herself to cancel the reservation I had booked through the on-line service. She then called, told me I had no reservation and hung up on me. Huh? I have been a paying customer there for years. I have booked many people there, and this is how they treat me? I am booking elsewhere.

Listen to the reviews. Looks nice from pictures and it could be nice in another reality. But that just isn't the case. Our room reeked of smoke to the point where we ended up just checking out at 11pm and going to another hotel an hour away. It was EXTREMELY small and there were marks and stains all over the bed. It was that bad. Lost 300ish bucks, because of course they arent going to refund us. No staff after 9pm and front desk is meh/unprofessional. No one to police loud guests at night which is sort of concerning if there is a safety issue. Parking situation is awful, no real view unless you are into auto shops and drab apartments. These things are minor though. All in all, do not stay here. Usually I write off super critical or one star reviews but this place is not good. (Can't comment on the gym or food, didnt stay long enough to try either)

The building quality is good for its level. Room had no bath soap or soap of any kind. There were no staff on the property so you have to call. The manager treats you as if you are stupid so you have to face a barrage of questions, continually questioning the truth of your earlier answers. We call around 9am on checking day to see how late we could check in. No staff were on premises. A long discussion ensued to say you cannot check in in the morning despite saying many many times we wanted to check in around 9pm at night. The word night just couldn’t register with the manager.

The hotel seems new or recently renovated. All the amenities in the room were modern. Spacious. The cleanness was not perfect. Very uncomfortable mattress and pillows.

We needed to change our reservation. We asked if they could move our reservation or put it on hold... They would not consider any options. We were to pick up a boat that is being repaired but another problem was found and we have to make it up to Anacortes in a week or two. IF we had just wanted to cancel I would understand the no refund, but we said if you just put a hold on it and keep $$ or charge us a fee for that.....they would not consider anything. We will be staying at the larger chains or hotels that will work with us when a problem arises. We had stayed here before and were not unhappy with hotel. But when a staff will not consider things happen in real life and they will not even consider an alterative....You have lost a customer and my entire family.
