Sakura - Asian restaurant in Monaca - 1001 Pennsylvania Ave #1812, USA

The food was amazing but the service was abysmal. It was raining very hard the night I went. The restaurant was pretty empty but they had us in the waiting area for a hibachi table when there was 4 hibachi tables and only one was dirty. I sat at the table for 10 minutes before someone came and took my drink order. I got a tequila sunrise to drink and it hardly had any alcohol in it and it was incredibly sweet. It was another 10 minutes before anyone came back for the food order. I was about to leave because it seemed no one had any interest in serving me. While I was waiting I noticed the ceiling was dripping behind the bar. I got my soup and salad about 15 minutes before the chef arrived. I wasn’t finished but the server took my bowls without asking if I was done. The chef was amazing and did all of the little tricks you would expect for a hibachi chef. He was very nice and cooked the food perfectly (I had the steak, lobster, and shrimp). I was almost done with my food by the time anyone came to ask how the meal was and it would be another 20 minutes before I was able to ask for the check and then 10 minutes to receive said check. I did notice they had a ton of take out orders and I see why. Amazing food and horrible service. Order it from home so you don’t have to deal.

I ordered take out from here for the first time. I will not be ordering again. My hibachi chicken was undercooked. The big pieces were raw on the inside. The food did not have much flavor either. When I picked my food up the employee was very prompt and polite.

This is not Japanese food!!! I've lived in Japan. That place is a Chinese restaurant trying to pass itself off as "Japanese" I don't recommend eating anything there. Even the Sapporo can of beer was old and the glass was warm brought to me.

If you are debating whether to go or not... just go! I've been there many times and each time, the food was outstanding and fresh. Another family was at the hibachi bar and the cook was really funny and making their experience special. All the staff was very nice to us and greeted us with a smile. Also, the place is very clean and beautiful with super high ceilings. On our most recent visit, my daughter ordered the Christmas sushi roll. I tasted it and highly recommend it.

If you're new looking for a sushi or chinese food, DO NOT TRY this place. Tall asian lady staff gave me a nasty stare just because I asked for the side soup, which comes with the love boat B. Never got the right service after that, and they only had 3 tables of customers... now I know why...

The food tasted great, the first time around. Coming back up, not so much. I ate sushi here about 5 hours ago, and I’ve been hugging the porcelain throne for the past thirty minutes. I eat sushi 3-4 times a month and I have for the past 15-20 years of my life. It has never once made me sick, until I ate here.

My meal wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't what I was expecting. The dish I was served was definitely not Seafood Yaki Udon.

We all ordered hibachi and everything was fresh and delicious. The chef seemed to really enjoy cooking for us and we enjoyed the “show”.
