Sakai Japanese Bistro - Japanese restaurant in Troy - 2303 W Main St, USA

First time trying this restaurant out and was very please. Food was great as well as service! The hibachi grill was an enjoyment for the family!

Traditional Japanese restaurant. It was very delicious, highly recommend the crab Rangoon, miso ramen and strawberry mochi.

We were looking for a good sushi restaurant while out running some errands in Troy and decided to stop in. The inside is clean, organized and neat. We were seated right away for lunch, but it wasn't busy. We ordered a tempera roll a California roll, egg, crab and tuna sushi. All sushi was delicious. The individual sushi was very nicely sized. They provided regular soy and lower salt soy on the tables. We ordered a diet soda and tea and those were also cold and large sized. The price of the meal was reasonable. We will be back.

We visited Troy recently and had dinner at Sakai for the first time in many years. I'm happy to say, we were not disappointed. We ordered an assortment of appetizers for our group of 5. Hot items (spring rolls and crab rangoon) were still hot from the fryer. The sushi was very nicely done. All of the appetizers were delicious. For dinner I had the chicken teriyaki bento box and all of it was amazing, with my favorite being the small assortment of tempura items (2 shrimp and some veggies). I highly recommend visiting Sakai when you are in the Troy area, though I would warn you, this is not an inexpensive place. Personally, I cannot wait to return.

Just what I needed. This establishment has it all. The ambiance, the excellent customer service and the delicious cuisine. I tried the spicy tuna roll: fresh and tasty. I also ordered spring rolls which were crispy and hot. Great flavor. I had the noodles which was a new taste for me as the broth was a bit sweet. Suggested by the server and I'm thankful for it. Received a $5 coupon for next visit with my bill. Great birthday lunch and I will be back soon! (Shown is my daughters bento box as well)

The miso soup was very obviously microwaved, and the green tea is made from powder instead of bags. It's a shame too, their miso soup was my favorite around until they brought it to me in an ice cold bowl with an ice cold spoon.

Really good food, but this is the most basic Japanese restaurant we've ever been to. Generally, they spin eggs, make beating hearts out of eggs, and show dancing shrimp. It's kind of disappointing since we took someone ne. Perhaps they were short-handed.

This has been my favorite spot for noodle soup for years! Nice clean place, never too busy, with delicious piping hot udon noodle soup, $10 for a large serving! 10/10 great food for the money.
