Old school nostalgia in a box. Take out and cash only, phone orders preferred. Lucky i went on a weekday on my last trip to Gardena and ordered up a 10 piece sushi box with the popular items walking up, the lady at the counter handpicked them for me 😁
No joke, this family owned business has been around since 1962. The California roll is straight bussin. Fresh avos and real shrimp used. Dunno how much longer theyll be around but im happy i got to eat here again 5 stars🤙
I felt like I am in Japan. The surroundings like tree and architecture were so Japanese. I ordered 20 pieces mix which includes everything on their menu. Their sushi tastes very original and authentic. The sushi rice was next level. It has chewy and sticky texture which balanced well with other ingredients. I was glad that I ordered sushi box because I loved the aesthetic packaging and the color combination of mix sushi. Beautiful!
Easily the best sushi place I've ever been to. The epitome of an under the radar hole in the wall type of place. They only have (and need) a simple menu because they execute it so well. I appreciate that you can order ahead and pickup. Not only is the fish and other ingredients fresh, the rice is perfectly flavorful - a balance of vinegar and sugar but allows the other ingredients to shine 👌🏽
This is the true definition of a hole in the wall. Literally just a window to order from, no dine in. But this place is obviously doing something right, cause they’ve been running for 60 years!! Very nice people. Their menu is simple—choose how many pieces you want and mix and match the ones you’d like. I got 10 pieces with 6 saba and 4 others just to try. Very solid meal, but a little heavy on the rice. Parking lot is huge.
Take out sushi of the highest quality. They have been in Gardena for eons and are known for their Nori and Inari rolls. Their Saba is also REALLY good. I suggest the mixed sushi box. Really good for small gatherings or a light picnic snack.

Love this place so so much!! I've been eating Sakae Sushi as long as I could eat solid food and its nostalgic to me and consistently fantastic. My mom has been a customer since she was in middle school in the 70s and says it hasn't changed since she started eating there :)
