Safeway - Grocery store in Tucson - 6360 E Golf Links Rd, USA

It's ko0l, just next door actually. The store app really helps you save money, if you're not using it you should. Great deals , can get free items, lower prices with digital coupons using your phone number, decent percentage off your whole shopping, up to $5 even $10 off. I definitely used that. Make it work for you, that's why they have it.

Store was not well stocked at all. I had a digital coupon for value pack of 80% ground beef. There was no meat in display area. I asked the butcher he said he only had 85% ground beef. Both male employees including a manager were vaping while cutting meat. This location by far is the worst stocked Safeway store in town. I didn't know you could vape while working when I asked for a rain check they said unable to do rainchecks with digital coupons. The customer service is below par. So sad.

I usually enjoy visiting this store. It feels safe and it’s clean. I also really think the butcher department is wonderful too. They go out of their way to be helpful. That is why I’m giving it 2 stars instead of the zero it deserves today. Tonight, I asked for help at the self check out for a digital coupon that wasn’t working. This is a constant problem that I have with this safeway, so I’m used to checking my receipt and asking for help it the discount isn’t coming off. The self check cashier asked for my phone in order to fish through my Safeway app to ‘help me’. He couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working. I told him I had not bought any soup this week. He replies, ‘you probably exceeded the 8 can limit’ and walked away done ‘helping.’ I then asked for a manager. I found the employee’s attitude offensive and I didn’t receive my discount, even though I’d clipped the coupon. He returned with fellow employee, not a manager! This new employee had equally poor people skills!! He didn’t ask me what the problem was, he didn’t look at me during the interaction and he never apologized for his employee not doing his job and accusing me of lying. He needed my cell phone as well. Surprise surprise, I arrive home with my much fought for 99 cent Progresso and my phone is missing! Probably an accident on my part but maybe not, the thing was getting passed around at check out! Drove all the way back, went up to customer service. The real manager informed me that the second man I’d interacted with was not a manager. When I expressed outrage, he responded, ‘what’s the difference? He helped you didn’t he?’

Good variety of shops. Grocery, gas, fast food, clothing ect... Staff seems to be friendly all around here. Clean and safe environment. Safeway is by far the cleanest nicest and by far the absolute most organized Store over here on the East Side Walmart and fries don't stand a chance when it comes to the clowning list and organization of Safeway. Now on other hand safeways prices are much higher in my opinion and that's just my opinion but in factual speaking because their prices are way higher than Walmart's and frys. But when they do have their deals their deals are nice But I can't get past effect the Blue Bunny ice cream when it's not on sale is almost $8 a pop That's more than double the price at Walmart I bought 8 pack of batteries and found out there was 3 and a 1/2 dollars more expensive there isn't it Walmart . Regardless you get what you pay for the rent clean store stock shelves for the higher prices or you get missing items and sticky floors At the morgueto stores

When you go shopping and you get to the register, and start having trouble with your app... Miss Ruth, and Ruth were both so incredibly helpful, it's no wonder I love this store before but I love it even more now, Update: today I had another unique experience at Safeway, after my last visit, it was tough to top the service and compassion. I went through the register and I was having trouble with the app on my phone, (it takes me some time to learn a new app) I'm a little older.. my cashier Sharonne Y. Walked me through the whole process of being able to navigate the app to make sure I got all the savings I selected , and she seemed to do it because she liked to be helpful, what an amazing attitude! I love this store!

Love this store I went through self check out about 730pm and a cashier named Jenna helped me out with my digital items 😊 I am always finding more to love about this store. They are the reason I stopped shopping with frys.

I was there on 10/03/2023 to purchase soup for 97¢ a can with the digital coupon. Of course I did everything wrong and Ruth the cashier who was working the self check out came over and helped me with a smile on her face and a pleasant personality. She's a total rock star ⭐

Safeway is a little bit pricier then Frys and is trying but can't beat Food City for produce. Self check out oriented because most checkers are busy.
