We forgot to make hotel reservations so ended up at the Safari Inn. It is not an inn, but a motel. It is priced accordingly so you are certainly getting what you pay for. Parking is free, there is a nice pool and a TV.||The rooms are a fair size for this type of travelers motel. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The AC did not work well, but it worked. The bathroom was small and out of date, but clean. I have seen a lot of negative reviews and I don't get it. This is not nor does it pretend to be a luxury hotel. It is a perfectly fine, safe and nice place to sleep and let the kids play in the pool.||The service was very nice. We were there but one night so I can't say much about housekeeping except that our room was clean. ||I would stay here again. We travel a lot and sometimes a budget friendly place is where you want to be. Have fun in Chico.
You pay for what you get. Two people slept the queen bed. Only spent one night there. Friendly and rapid service. Smelled heavily of chlorine, so that was somewhat reassuring. No blinds on the bathroom windows, but pillow cases held up by tacks. Stains on the outer blanket/sheet but the inner bleached white ones were clean. Hard bed and flat pillows. Checked for bed bugs this morning and was all clear no issues. Heater worked fabulously though!
I got there, and the woman checked me into a room that was adjacent to a RV that was broken down. I let her know I didn’t want to stay in that room. And she moved me two rooms down to a room next to a broken down car. I went in the room just to use the facility before going to an event and realized that it was not clean and pretty old and dated. The walls seem like they had not been painted in a long time and there were holes in the walls from hangings of paintings. In addition, the cable was out so no TV. The door did not have extra security to to lock it at night.||I ended up, leaving to go to my event, and realizing that I did not have my credit card because the woman did not give it back to me when she she charged it at the desk. I had to turn back around and go get my credit card which was sitting at the desk. I am not sure why the woman did not call me to let me know that she had the card.||Because of the fact that I didn’t feel safe at that establishment. I ended up booking a room at the Doubletree instead. The policy at the Safari Inn is for no refunds so I just ate the $113 I paid. It is no way worth $113.
Room: upon entering, the room has an extremely fabuloso/chemical smell. All items in the room were smothered with cleaning chemical. You can tell upon contacting the Surfaces of the table, floors, nightstand, dresser and many more. Found a small spider on the toilet paper. The room doesn’t seemed to occupied for a while. The doors malfunctioned a few times. The door does not seemed secure. The window has a piece of wood for protection from I would assume breakage. Does not make me feel safe at all. Weird dark frame/window in the bathroom as well as unclean tissue area. Fridge: unstable fridge, yet microwave were placed on top of fridge. Dangerous and environmental hazard. Curtains: needs deep clean. Curtains has harsh black stain all over it. The beds were comfortable enough to sleep on. Possible bugs, got bitten all over legs and side shoulder. Developed rash with red spotting along back knee and thigh (exposed area when sleeping). Air vent: extremely loud and is located right next to the bed. You will need earplugs to have a good night sleep. Overall, place needs upgrade and deep cleaning of rooms as well as outside. Trash and dirt everywhere. There is no security patrolling/lookout during night time for an open hotel. You will get what you pay for. I do not recommend this hotel unless you’re there for one night sleep (maybe doable if you’re not a sensitive person).
I had planned to stay for one night, however the next morning I decided to stay an additional night so I went to the office to extend my stay since when I checked in the night before the man at the desk said to book directly through them next time because I would get a cheaper rate and not have to pay the booking fees that most travel sites charge. When I went to the office the lady said it would be $70 Well that was actually more than I had paid through a booking site so I told her never mind I would go online and look, so I went to my room and I went on to the safari Inn website and was given a rate of $58 What taxes it came to about 65 dollarso I went ahead and booked that When I went to the front desk she said well I'll go ahead and honor that rate but you'll have to check out of the room and not check back in until 1 PM That's absolutely ridiculous there's no reason why I had to pack up my stuff and check out just to check back in 2 hours later . I will never stay at this hotel again
Kind service and great clean pool. The location is nice, several different food options within walking distance. The rooms are uncomfortable and we had to change rooms several times due to different issues. One room had dirty sheets and the other only had scalding water.
Positive: Nothing, I left as soon as I saw the room. It was disgusting, should have no stars. Negative: Dirty, hairs in bedding, smelled of new paint, live flies and spiders in room, floor was full of dead bugs, and exposed wiring at receptacle where HVAC unit plugged in. Dangerous. Negative: ""
This place says no smoking and the whole room smelled like cigarettes. There was probably 10 flies in the room. Nasty stuff on the walls. had just paid for the room and asked for a refund and they refused to give. Worst hotel, do not recommend.
