This is a spacious SC state park on Lake Hartwell near the SC/GA border. There are 3 campground loops with gravel pads, electric, water, fire pit and picnic table for each site.
There is a boat dock with a small parking area and a fishing pier.
The camp office has souvenirs, firewood, canoe and kayak rentals and a large covered pavilion with picnic tables, restrooms and a gorgeous view of the lake. There are several rocking chairs that tempt one to stay and relax awhile.
There is a hiking/ biking trail that contains loops around the park. We hiked most of it and it was 3.1 miles of mostly flat terrain with many lake views.
Wonderful state park. We had an amazing experience here. If you are ever visiting Westminster, SC, I highly recommend you check out this park. First, we walked around a small peninsula - only a peninsula because of the low lake levels currently. I kid you not, it looked like Mars. It was one of the most amazing and wonderful walks I have ever been on and I mean it. After that, we drove to Persimmon Beach - you must walk a very small way to get there, though. There is nobody at Persimmon Beach usually. The water is a perfect temperature and there's even a little wooden hut. Swimming there was a good choice! Maps are available and you can rent a pavilion which is cool. Clay is everywhere here. The shores are not sand (usually), but clay.

1st time at SCSP. very nice park, clean and quiet.
Bathhouse close by, good hot water.
They were clean and supplied.
Rangers were friendly and helpful.
Cell Service: 3 bars available
Rented Pavilion 1 on a Sunday. Nice raised view of the lake with a short walk to the water. Bathrooms were so convenient and clean. Plenty of tables and access points to the pavilion. Playground and volleyball courts very close. Fans would have been nice to have to move the air around.
Love this park, love the view.
Only one complaint, on campground or loop 1 there are WAY TOO MANY SITES you actually can hear your neighbor conversation, kind of tight to park on your site. So next time we will avoid loop 1
My kids and I really enjoyed camping here. It’s apparently they are working on expansion, however the sites were clean and well maintained- same for the restrooms. The sunset was beautiful over the water. Note that the terrain from the campsites to the waters edge is very steep in most cases. There is lake access available in the camping area, as well as a playground. If you want to drive over the public access area, it has more play equipment as well as a grassy area for picnicking with tables with views of the lake - and it’s much less steep!
During the slow season, there's no ranger presence whatsoever in the park after hours. Allowing drunk and obscene college kid to run wild in the campground. If you're lucky and in a quiet loop, it's a small relaxing campground. If your unlucky like us, it'll ruin you weekend.
My daughter and I went to Sadlers Creek State Park to go fishing on the fishing pier. This pier has green neon lights underneath to draw in the big fish. When they first put the lights up it was open all night. I understand how dangerous it is after dark and we were at planning on staying 30 minutes to an hour after dark. We wanted to try to catch some fish with the lights. Just as soon as the sun set, before it was dark, the park ranger came around and told us we had to leave. The lights hadn't even come on yet. So we were very disappointed. What was the point of putting the lights up if you can't even use them? Again, I understand how dangerous it is at night with people creeping around and jumping out of bushes. Other than that, we had a great time watching the sunset and fishing. We didn't catch anything and 3 other people were there. This is definitely where you want to be...before dark!

I was visiting the town on my business trip. Reached out for a drop in class, got a really fast & welcoming response from PJ. Signed pretty quick once there. The class was great! Lots of students but not crowded as the mat area was quite large. Great

Love this place and the retro games that i played so often as a teenager. And I've not seen the cookie monster ice cream anywhere else. Yes it will dye everything it comes into contact with, but it will wear away super fast. Way faster than you'd ex
I have to give this particular RI itâs well deserved 5 stars. No issues from the staff and servicesâ¦.not even the guests (which no one really can control). Clean rooms, good turn down service great front staff. Standard of service with a smile is
